Candy-centered factory management and survival titleChocolate Factoryis coming to PCs this June 2024, with a playable demo already available. Satisfactorybecame one of the 10 most-played titles on Epic in 2020, after releasing in Early Access in March 2019. A management title, players use resources gathered from the environment to create the most efficient factory possible. Inspired by the game, indie developer Tbjbu2 worked to craft a similar title with a chocolate twist.

Announced earlier this month,Chocolate Factoryhas released the demo version of the game, titledChocolate Factory: Prologue, on Steam. A specific launch date for the PC game hasn’t been nailed down, though the June 2024 time frame is confirmed. The full game will feature multiple candy recipes to create, exploration, combat, and base-building mechanics. Shown in the trailer, players will travel using jump pads, gliders, and jetpacks. While exploration and combat are a part of the experience,Chocolate Factory’s open world isn’t so large that players won’t be able to fill it with a giant factory as they progress towards the endgame.

Playing through the demo could cement if the title is worthy of being called aSatisfactory-like game. The use of conveyor belts and drones does seem to emulate the earlier title closely, though having a world covered in gumdrops and cupcakes certainly sets it apart. With a void left by the lack of updates forSatisfactory, this candy-coated take on base building and factory optimization could fill the hole. With solid management mechanics, it could become one of thebest games to try for players who loveFactorio.
