Ms. Marvelpremieres on Disney Plus in just a few days, and to increase the hype of the already much-awaited series, Marvel Studioshas released an exclusive clip featuring Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan. Fans have already seen glimpses of her obsession for Captain Marvel in the trailers, including her dressing up as her favorite superhero, but the new clip features a hilarious nod to another Avenger, the Hulk, courtesy Kamala’s parents.
The newMs. Marvelclip, which is now doing the rounds on social media, features a conversation between Vellani’s Kamala and her mother, Zenobia Shroff’s Muneeba Khan, about an Avengers-themed party that the teenager wants to attend. It is obvious at this point that Khan would most likely want to dress up as Captain Marvel if she were to attend this party. However, her parents seem to have a different plan in place, possibly trying to keep her away from her obsession, and would rather have their daughtergoing as She-Hulk.

The clip begins with Shroff’s Muneeba informing her daughter that she can attend the party, despite the fact that it will be a “distraction from [her] studies” and that there will be a lot of religiously unacceptable activities taking place there.Ms. Marvelestablishes an immediate reflection of culture, while also connecting the characters with the wider audiences by making them realize that at the end of the day, Kamala is still just a teenager who has to live by her parents’ rules. But, the conditions to attend the party might just change things.
Shroff’s Muneeba reveals that Kamala’s father, Mohan Kapur’s Yusuf Khan, will attend the party with her only “for two hours,” and they will both bedressing up as the Hulk. The parents have even gone as far as designing custom outfits for the father-daughter duo, and Muneeba refers to them as “big Hulk, and little Hulk.” While Yusuf is all set to go, having painted his face green to match Hulk’s, Kamala doesn’t seem too impressed by the end of the clip.
TheAvengers-themed partythat Kamala wants to attend is featured in the comics andAvengersgame, too. However, the difference is that in the comics, her parents don’t allow her to attend the party, which forces her to sneak out of her house and expose her true powers in the process. It is already known that the series is only an adaptation and doesn’t follow the plot in the comics entirely, but this clip is proof of some of the creative liberties that the studio has taken with the series.
