Ninjalais one of the low-key exciting releases of the summer. It’s a free-to-play multiplayer game for Nintendo Switch that’s supposed to be quick to pick up and easy to get invested in. GungHo Online Entertainment launchedNinjalaofficially yesterday, June 24, and as expected a large wave of fans tried to log on and play. For those familiar with these types of scenarios, where demand for an online game appears to be beyond initial expectations, the predictable happened.Ninjalahas been facing serious server issues since launch.
The server issues appear to be diverse in nature.Login issuesand matchmaking issues appear to be the most prevalent problems, with the matches themselves working alright when they launch.Ninjalaeither isn’t allowing players to log on at all, or it’s not putting players to matches after they try and join.

To be clear, the issue absolutely appears to be due to the amount of players trying to download andplayNinjala.Ninjalawas scheduled to launch June 24 at 7:00 pm PT, but instead launched an hour early. By all accounts, that first hour of access ran very well. It was only after the announced release time that the servers became congested and overwhelmed.
The officialNinjalaTwitter account has acknowledged these issues, and did so quickly, too. It first confirmed the “Access Failure” error trying to log on, followed by generalconnection issues. Next came problems with the Room Battle mode, though apparently issues with that were quickly resolved. Based on the officialNinjalaTwitter account, no major issues have since been discovered. That doesn’t mean they’ve been resolved, however.
Since the initial hours of launch, it must be made clear, the outcry overNinjala’sserver issueshave been more quiet. That doesn’t mean the servers aren’t still having issues, as there are still players on Twitter reporting problems. However, there are also reports that some players are logging on and playing with relative ease.
Even with the server issues, those who downloadNinjalashould be able to check out both the Story Pack and theTraining modeswithout having to worry about matchmaking frustrations. And, worst case, players can probably wait a few more days for the servers to settle before playing.
