Fans ofNo Man’s Skyand puzzle games will be excited to hear that Hello Games, the indie studio behind the 2016 space exploration survival game, is bringing PS4 players its next product very soon. The Last Campfirecomes to the PS4 tomorrow, August 27.

No Man’s Skystill has a dedicated community four years after launch, and they’ve recently been enjoying thehorror side of space with the Desolation update. Hello Games' newest game,The Last Campfire, also focuses on exploration but with more emphasis on puzzle solving. The main character, Ember, is a “lost soul” trying to find its way home in a dark world by helping others along the journey.

The devs have been promising to break out of theNo Man’s Skygenre and themes and turn instead toward a game focused on emotions and hope. The animated style is pretty different, and the videos released so far show an attention to detail and delivering on those themes of empathy and connection.

The art style and game mechanics will hopefully boost Hello Games' credibility after thecontroversial but mostly successfulNo Man’s Sky, which has seen a lot of updates and improvements in response to issues brought up by players. So far, people seem pretty excited aboutThe Last Campfire, or as excited as the Internet can get about an emotional indie game. There is definitely a niche for games about loss, hope, and emotional issues, and indie games excel at creating visually distinct, character-driven experiences for players.

The Last Campfirewill also release on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, although only the PS4 release is confirmed tomorrow. Players will be able to experience the puzzle game on PC as well, butThe Last Campfireis an Epic Games Store exclusiveand PC players won’t be able to go the usual route of buying through Steam. It’s store exclusives that make the Epic Games Store so popular and successful, andThe Last Campfiremay drive more Hello Games fans to look into the store’s games library.

SinceNo Man’s Skywas added to the Xbox Game Pass, the space exploration game has seen a massive influx of new players and fans of Hello Games' work. This boost in popularity is sure to helpThe Last Campfireat launch, although players should hope that the massive amount of new players doesn’t create server issues for Hello Games' products.

The Last Campfirewill be available on PS4 Augst 27 and Epic Games Store, Switch, and Xbox One later in Summer 2020.
