Exploring Sacra is one of the core gameplay elements thatNo Rest For The Wickedfocuses on. The game wants players to feel immersed within the world it has crafted, and makes sure there are plenty of areas to explore. While going through different regions of the world, players will come across certain areas that are locked out behind unreachable ladders. In typical RPG fashion, these ladders let you access bountiful treasures and unexplored regions — but the question is, how?

How to Drop Ladders

The ladders in Sacra aren’t reachable from the ground. If there’s a ladder that’s not yet accessible, it means that the region behind it hasn’t been properly explored. It could be a locked door, a latter region, or even a hidden area that the Cerim hasn’t had the opportunity to explore.

The only way to drop ladders is from the top. From there, you’re able to interact with them using the interact key (E for computer players) to kick them down. This creates a shortcut between different areas, making the map more accessible the more you explore it, thus encouraging exploration even more. It’s a feedback loop that encourages you to see the entirety of Sacra on your adventure, rather than staying on the beaten path.

How To Reach Ladders

There are a couple of ladders that might bother players when they’re goingon their merry way to Sacrament. Since these can’t be struck down by a ranged weapon, players have to go around the map to reach them from an entirely different area to where they are first seen.

The first ladder in the game can be found on thewest coast of the shallows, just left of the broken wall leading inside the fort outside Mariner’s Keep. Players will come across it if they go across the thin wooden plank on the rock coast. To drop the ladder, go into the fort and move forward while staying near the wall. Soon, you will go up a flight of stairs and reach a tower you can enter.

Dispatch the enemies inside and go down the ladder next to the entrance to drop it. Then, just interact with the next ladder to drop it.

The second ladder in the first area can be found near the sewers, towards the east side of the coast. To reach it, progress past Mariner’s Keep, and reach the unlowered bridge thatleads to Warrick The Torn.

Instead of going across the bridge, or using the elevator, go into the screen, away from the elevator. From there, climb down the vines and the proceeding ladder, to reach the platform where the kickable ladder is located.

There are other ladders in further regions which work on the same principle. Keep the general location of the ladder in mind, and try to make your way to it while looking at the map. Who knows, the region the ladder leads to might contain a treasure chest!
