Ocean’s 11director Steven Soderbergh will begin filming a new heist film titledNo Sudden MoveforWarner Bros.Pictures and HBO Max. Joining the ensemble cast of the film are David Harbour, Noah Jupe, Kieran Culkin, and Brendan Fraser.
Production onNo Sudden Movewill begin on September 28 in Detroit, with strict protocols being enforced to protect the health of the cast and crew amid the COVID-19 crisis. Previously titledKill Switch, the film was originally going to begin production in Spring. However, the project was one of many to temporarily shut down production due tothe COVID-19 pandemic.

Consequently, the postponement prevented actors George Clooney, John Cena, and Sebastian Stan from continuing to work on the film. Now, the all-star cast will include the previously mentioned actors alongside Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, Amy Seimetz, Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Bill Duke, Frankie Shaw, and Julia Fox. “The last time I shot a movie in Detroit with a great script and a great cast things worked out really well, so I’m very excited behind my mask right now,” said Soderbergh in a statement.

No Sudden Moveis part ofthe three-year first-look dealSoderbergh signed with HBO and HBO Max this year. The filmmaker previously collaborated HBO Max on the upcoming drama titledLet Them All Talkstarring Meryl Streep and Gemma Chan.
TheOcean’sfilms are not Soderbergh’s only experiences with heists. As recently as 2017, the filmmaker officially came out of retirement to helm the heist comedyLogan Luckywith Channing Tatum andJames Bond actor Daniel Craig. (It’s a great film in and of itself, but an absolute must-see for Craig’s performance.)
No Sudden Movewill be released on HBO Max on a yet-to-be-announced date.
