One Piece’sprevious chapter saw the Onigashima Raid come close to its end as Luffy’s fight against Kaido rages on in the skies above the Flower Capital. With Luffy using what is very easily his most powerful attack in the series yet, Kaido was left with no choice but to retaliate with a powerful attack of his own. Using the Flame Dragon Torch, Kaido generated flames powerful enough to vaporize even the horns of Onigashima itself.
Fans got to see the two clash, which was then followed by a flashback sequence of 20 years, showing the suffering of the people of Wano and how much misery they’d been in. At the same time, the Fire Festival came to a close as the wishes of the people flew into the sky, while Denjiro chopped Orochi’s head off, and Kaido and Luffy’s pivotal clash continued. With that, fans have now turned all eyes toOne Piece 1049, which could very well be key inthe fight between Luffy and Kaidoand even go as far as to determine who the victor of the battle is.

One Piece 1049: What To Expect
It is highly likely thatOne Piece 1049will continue right from where the previous chapter left off and fans will see Luffy and Kaido struggle for supremacy over the Wano skies. With Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Bajrang Gun andKaido’s Flame Bagua clashing, only one can come out on top and it’ll be interesting to see whether it is the Yonko who does so or the man carrying Wano on his back right now. More importantly,One Piece 1049will most likely focus on Momonosuke and his task at hand to move Wano out of the way. Currently, there don’t seem to be many obstacles left in Wano.

With Big Mom having already lost, the fires of Onigashima having already been put out and even Orochi having died, Kaido is the only threat left, and to defeat him, Onigashima has to be moved out of the way.One Piece chapter 1049will likely show fans Momonosuke’s struggle in moving the island away from Luffy’s path, which could end up being quite a task. Momonosuke can either use his brute strength to move the island or finally manage toget a grip of his Devil Fruit abilitiesand use them to produce the Flame Clouds and pull the island away with them. Either way, the biggest part of the next chapter is likely to be surrounding the island.
One Piece 1049: A Clash Of Haki
While the majority ofOne Piece chapter 1049is likely going to be focused on Momonosuke moving Onigashima out of Luffy’s path, fans are more than likely going to see Luffy and Kaido continue their battle of supremacy in the sky as well. InOne Piece1047, fans saw Kaido mention the importance of Haki. According to him, a great Devil Fruit ability can only take someone so far, and in order for them to truly rise to the very top of the era, improving their Haki and taking it to its very best level is the only way. At the same time,One Piece1048 also saw Luffy remind fansabout the concept of Ryuo that he learned from Hyougoro in the Prisoner’s Mine in Udon. Thanks to this ability, Luffy can channel all his Haki into Kaido’s body and do internal damage without even touching him.

The next chapter of One Piece will likely see a true test of Luffy’s Haki, especially after Oda having built it up for quite a bit in the last two chapters. Without a doubt, the pirate with the superior Haki is likely to hold an advantage here. Of course, that certainly doesn’t mean that the superior Haki simply wins. As seen on several occasions previously, sheer force can also break through Haki, meaning if Luffy’s Bajrang Gun is much stronger than Kaido’s Flame Bagua, the former can turn that to his advantage. Either way, fans could expect the fight to wrap up in the next chapter, and there are likely going to be major developments towards the conclusion. Kaido’s possible defeat would open up the path for either a flashback, or for the post-war events to finally begin. With that,the Wano Country arc would actually get closer to its endand the next few chapters could actually be the last of this arc, which should excite fans even more.
