One Piececontinues its excellent run this week and fans finally got chapter 1120, which was much awaited by all the readers. Currently, One Pieceis in the Egghead Island arc, and its finale continues to deliver exciting reveals through Vegapunk’s message, and at the same time, incredible bits of combat here and there as well.
The story is slowly edging closer to the next arc of the series, which fans know to be Elbaf already. Each One Piece chapter sees the story take a major step closer to the end, and this week, fans got to see major progress being made when it comes to the escape of the crew from Egghead. Things are only going to get more intense from here onwards, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what’s next.
Vegapunk’s Past and Clover’s Secret
Vegapunk and Clover’s Past Was Revealed In OP 1120
One Piece chapter 1120focused quite a lot on Vegapunk and his past. This was a rather surprising turn of events in the story. It is safe to say that at this point, none of the fans had assumed that they would get another small flashback on Vegapunk. After all, fans have already gotten one flashback of his life, and at the same time, with Vegapunk now dead, there was a very small scope for his past to be incorporated into the story, unless from a third-person source.
That said, Oda made a very brave decision and incorporated yet another flashback from Vegapunk at the very beginning of the chapter. Fans could see Vegapunk from 24 years ago when he was still working on Punk Hazard. At the time, the likes of Caesar Clown were working with him on the island. He was seen speaking to Professor Clover in the flashback. Fans know that both Clover and Vegapunk have tremendous significance in this arc, and that is specifically why this flashback was needed. Fans could seek Clover and ask Vegapunk for his help in deciphering the Poneglyphs. Of course, at the time, Vegapunk was a Government man, and even though he had his ideals, he did not want to go against the Government. More importantly, he did not see the point of peeking into the past when it could get one killed. It is safe to say that ever since then, Vegapunk has changed drastically.
More importantly, fans also found out bits about Clover’s past. It was revealed that he had a brother once who was killed right in front of him. This death was carried out simply because he held the D in his name. On that day, Clover lied to save himself and said that he was not a D. Clearly, he carried this regret in his heart ever since, and that is precisely why we wanted retribution and get to the entire truth of the persecution that he and the other people of the D in the world faced. Clover became a renowned archaeologist, and his works are some of the biggest reasons as to why Vegapunk is even getting this message out. Back then,Vegapunk denied his request, stating that he had no interest in aiding him and that his research would not be carried out by anyone. However, as fans know, now, Vegapunk is actually carrying on his work and delivering it to the next generation, which is essentially doing the same thing that Clover did.
Vegapunk lost his life for trying to decipher the past, just like Clover, and this just goes to show the change in character that he underwent over the years. Much of this happened when Ohara was destroyed and wiped off the face of the Earth by the World Government. Vegapunk was seen shedding tears back then, but he used these tears to fuel his own research later down the line, which fans know to be very successful, given that the message that is currently being delivered is direct proof of it.

Vegapunk’s message continued in One Piece chapter 1120 and it did so in quite some fashion. He continued to talk about Gol D. Roger, who was the only man to complete the circumnavigation of the entire world, being the one to find out the truth about the entire world, the mysteries of the D, and just about everything else.
His pirate crew,the Roger Pirates, also know the entire truth of it. While Vegapunk was speaking, fans also got to see other developments take place on the island.
The Labophase had not been focused on for quite a while now, and fans certainly expected Oda to throw some light on it. Thankfully, this segment of the arc has officially wrapped up now and much of that is down two Atlas. After Zoro and Nusjuro had a small clash, Atlas took it upon herself to take on Nusjuro and provide an opportunity for the Strawhats to escape. Before doing that, however, Atlas knocked out Lilith and ensured that she made it out of Egghead alive. Then, she proceeded to charge at Nusjuro, and even after getting her arm sliced, she grabbed him, and took him to the skies, where she self-destructed.
This boughtthe Straw hat Piratesenough time to escape, and they did so perfectly, jumping off the Labophase and heading to the ocean down below. Now, it is up to Sanji to save the ship and it will be interesting to see how things turn out from here onwards in the upcoming few chapters ofOne Piece.
Emet Takes A Stand

Finally, the most important part of the chapter was delivered right at the end, where Vegapunk started to talk about the prediction he has for the future of the world. Meanwhile, Emet met Luffy and together, they focused on the enemies in front of them. Luffy was the only one capable of hearing Emet, and that is down to the Voice of All Things. Meanwhile, Emet’s power was put to the test against the Elders, but his mechanical functions had been lost to time. Still, Emet has a secret weapon up his sleeve that he is now going to use against the Elders very soon. Fans absolutely cannot wait to see him take a stand against the Elders and do something significant in combat. Once again,Emet recalled his words to Joy Boyabout utilizing something special when the time is right, and he’s now going to do just that. One Piece Chapter 1120 set up this magnificent action from Emet that fans will only get to see next week.
Hopefully, in the coming weeks, fans will be treated to yet another phenomenal battle, this time, fought by Emet against the Elders. Meanwhile,the Straw Hat Pirateswill most definitely be looking to escape, and it is only a matter of time before the Egghead Island Arc wraps up and the next arc in One Piece begins.
