In the early days, video games were somewhat easier since most developers were still figuring out certain features, which limited how difficult they could make a particular enemy. But, nowadays, almost every new game (even those aimed toward the younger audience) has enemies or bosses that challenge even the most hardcore gamer. Bosses like Thunderblight Ganon fromThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildto the Fire Giant inElden Ringhave earned their place as some of themost challenging bosses to beat in recent years.

TheOrcs Must Die!series is another video game franchise that manages to create unique yet challenging enemies that have undoubtedly caused some players to rage-quit. And Robot Entertainment went all out withOrcs Must Die! 3since they added dozens of new enemies that have proven difficult to beat even with the right weapon or trinket.
7Kobold Runner
Health:
Newcomers to theOrcsMust Die!game series may overlook Kobold Runners since they are small and easy to kill, but veteran OMD players know that these tiny creatures can ruin an entire run. And that’s because Kobold Runners are fast (base speed is 900) and come in huge groups, meaning that one can easily get past a player, ending their breach-less run.
The best way to manage the Kobold Runner is to use AOE-based weapons like the Blunderbuss or Chain Lightning Staff. Additionally, players can place Tar Traps (which is similiar to some of the traps found inRust) to slow Kobold Runners down, buying players some time to finish them off with an AOE attack or well-placed trap.

6Gnoll Hunter
The Gnoll Hunter is one of the most recurring enemies in theOrcs Must Die!series and has become increasingly difficult with each release. The main feature that makes the Gnoll Hunter a problematic enemy to beat is that it focuses on the player and not passing The Rift. As soon as a Gnoll Hunter enters the map, they will run toward the player, no matter where they are, and even jump over traps like Barricade to reach them.

Players can defeat Gnoll Hunters by placing several traps that slow them down, like the Freeze Trap or Confusion Flower. Moreover, the Decoy trap will momentarily distract the Gnoll Hunter, but they will seek the player as soon as it’s destroyed.
5Armored Ogre
Perhaps one of the tankiest enemies inOrcs Must Die! 3, the Armored Ogre can plow through any trap while soaking up tons of damage. The Armored Ogre has high acid and physical resistance, so any trap or weapon with that damage type will be useless against it. But, players can stun the Armored Ogre, which is whyEgan is the ideal heroto use since his active skill stuns enemies for a few seconds.
But, players can also slowly chip away at their health by using several Guardian Archer traps since they have high DPS and can unleash volleys of arrows at it at max level. The Flamethrower is also a decent weapon against it, but players should be careful not to get too close since the Armored Ogre’s attack can stun them.

4Voidbat
Flying enemies are the worst nightmare for any player who enjoys using melee weapons inOrcs Must Die! 3, and the Voidbat tops them all as the most infuriating flying enemy to fight. And that’s because the Voidbat can start attacking a player as soon as they spawn in since they have a powerful arcane long-ranged attack.
Fortunately, they are extremely weak to headshots (7.5 headshot multiplier), so players can equip the Magic Longbow or Crossbow to make quick work of them. But, for those that don’t have a long-ranged weapon, the best way to defeat the Voidbat is by placing Guardian Archers or the Rapid Fire Ballista, which players will need to fire manually.

3Tuatara Assassin
Despite being newcomers to theOrcs Must Die!universe, the Tuatara, have proven to be challenging to beat for the average player. And the worst of the bunch is hands down the Tuatara Assassin since it’s able to cloak and remain cloaked until the player damages it. The Tuatara Assassin also ignores Barricades, which means they can easily sneak up on unsuspecting players.

The most effective strategy against these creatures is for players to place several Giant Killer Beehives that will instantly activate once a Tuatara Assassin passes under, even if they’re cloaked. But, players should aim toupgrade it with Skullsfirst since it will increase its activation radius.
2Cyclops Shaman
Even though the Cyclops Shaman has a low attack rating, it still manages to be one of the most formidable enemies to beat inOrcs Must Die! 3since it has several tricks up its sleeves. For starters, it can disable traps every 8-seconds within a 4-tile radius that players cannot stop. On top of that, every time an enemy dies, the Cyclops Shaman summons a Totem that heals nearby enemies.
The Acid Geyser is the best trap to use against the Cyclops Shaman since it’s weak against Acid-type attacks. But, players can also use the Window of Butterflies trap to distract the Cyclops Shaman from summoning the healing Totem.

1Fire Fiend Overlord
Undoubtedly, the most difficult enemy to defeat inOrcs Must Die! 3is the Fire Fiend Overlord. This Fiend-type enemy has melee and ranged attacks that deal massive fire damage, some of which cause DoT (damage-over-time). On top of that, the Fire Fiend Overlord is a Heavy-type enemy, meaning that any trap that pushes, launches, or sucks enemies will be useless against it.
But, despite its fiery demeanor, the Fire Fiend Overlord isweak against Ice. So, players that want to take down this enemy easily can use the Ice Amulet since it lets them shoot ice projectiles that deal massive damage.

Orcs Must Die! 3is available for Microsoft Windows, Google Stadia, Xbox One/Series X/Series S, and PlayStation 4/5!
