2021 is nearly at an end, and out of all the major gaming publishers, it’s been an especially good year forXbox. Microsoft is establishing its footing in the next-generation space with the successful Xbox Series S and X consoles, plus the company has continued to expand into the PC and mobile gaming markets. Not only that, but the Xbox Game Pass subscription service had easily its best year yet, withXboxdelivering some of the highest-rated games to release in all of 2021 to the service....

Square Enix has done an interesting job of adjusting the difficulty ofFinal Fantasy 16, with a wide difficulty window that allows some players to easily make it through the game while still being offered a number of high-skill challenges. As a result, the game is likely to be mechanically sound. However, in order for the gameplay to shine through, the game needs an exciting setting to work with. Thankfully, thePersonagames have shown off a setup that could be reused to great effect when it comes toMetaphor: ReFantazio’s dungeons....

It’s not unusual for Microsoft to roll out some special edition consoles for upcoming games. For example, to hype gamers up overCyberpunk 2077, Microsoft released a fairly limited edition console themed after the futuristic game which sold out rather quickly. NieR Replicant, like any other JRPG, has many odd jobs for players to take on that can be completed to get different types of rewards.
