One creativePokemonfan artist designed an epic evolution for Starmie. The Generation 1 Pokemon historically only has two forms, but one fan decided to give the Water type an impressive final evolution. When it comes toPokemonfan art, creating new evolutions is a rather popular genre. Some also like to create fusions of various Pokemon and even change their types.
Whileone artist designed a Mega Evolution for Starmie, the Pokemon is not typically the most common inspiration for fan art. Usually, starter Pokemon or even Legendary Pokemon are more ordinarily seen. That being said, fans will also create pieces based on some of their favorite, underrated pocket monsters. This time, it’s Starmie that got the evolutionary glow up.

Artist and Reddit user phantasma_photo designed a Starmie evolution and even wrote a fairly detailed Pokedex entry. The new evolution is called Starmor, and it’s a Water and Steel-type Pokemon that gained armor after “prolonged exposure to the metals in sunken ships.” The change from Psychic (Starmie’s secondary typing) to Steel combines two ofthe best Pokemon typesout there.
Along with a new design, the Starmie evolution received a stat boost that would easily move it up the list ofthe best Water-type Pokemonof all time. Most notable are its incredible Special Attack and Speed stats which both sit at 130. These would easily rank Starmor in an elite class of fast and powerful Pokemon. Because of their speed, the Pokedex entry states that Starmor can be “seen flying up to the Earth’s atmosphere” and “are often mistaken as falling stars.”
The only note the community seems to have concerning this evolution is the name. To coincide with the Staryu and Starmie, one commenter suggests that perhaps the artist should spell the name as “Starmour” to stick with the established naming convention. The artist even responded to the comment and stated, “That’s amazing!”
What is impressive is all the thought and effort that went into the design as well as the lore behind the Starmie evolution. Impressively enough, the entire image was made in Microsoft Paint. The artist even showed off an image of what its shiny would look like in the comments of the Reddit post.
Given all the great Water types in the Kanto region, Starmie is considered by some to be one of the more underrated pocket monsters out there. And this is despite it being the star member of one ofthe most iconic Pokemon gym leaders. Still, it just goes to show that just about every Pokemon is likely to be at least one fan’s favorite. It makes sense too, considering thePokemonseries has endured for decades and fans have found their way to it at different points over the years.
