TheHidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC forPokemon Scarlet and Violetwas originally announcedin late February as a two-part expansion consisting of The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk adventures slated to launch in the third and fourth quarter of 2023, respectively. The newly debuted gameplay trailer for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero finally revealed how those locations will look in action. The footage implies that Kitakami will possibly take place outside the Iberian Peninsula-inspiredPaldea region fromPokemon Scarlet and Violet, not least because the new festival-infused setting seems to be decisively Japanese.

The Indigo Disk’s Blueberry Academy appears to be somewhat more futuristic-looking, with its main draw being a new battle stadium and what one student refers to as a “Terarium.” The latter is essentially a new Safari Zone that will possibly allow players to catch and evolve regional Pokemon variants, as implied by the brief glimpse at an Alolan Exeggutor offered by the trailer.

Nintendo today also launched a surprise5-star Tera Raid inPokemon Scarlet and Violetthat will allow players to battle a chest-form Gimmighoul. The special event runs until July 2 at 16:59 PT and will even provide the fans with a small chance of encountering a shiny variant of the elusive Pokemon. Additionally, starting today until the end of July, all players can redeem a new in-game gift containing 10 Nuggets, 10 Rare Candies, and one Friend Ball.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC can already be pre-ordered at $34.99. Alternatively, Nintendo is also sellingPokemon Scarlet and Violetbundles that include one of the two titles and both parts of the upcoming expansion at $94.99, thus being $10 cheaper than buying either game and its DLC separately. The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk are still without a concrete release date, with the latest Nintendo Direct merely reiterating that they’re targeting a fall and early winter launch, respectively.
