It looks likePokemon SwordandShield’supcoming DLC won’t just reintroduce several cut Pokemon back into the seriesbut also add a slew of new Pokemon moves. A recent datamine revealed a list containing over 21 names that read like Pokemon attacks, and one of the names got confirmed as a new move earlier this year.
Weirdly enough, though, the information doesn’t come from a datamine ofPokemon SwordandShieldthemselves. Miners instead found the information while digging around in the latest Pokemon Home update, which now allows trainers to check out theirSwordandShieldBattle Data from the app.

Here is the list of moves that miners managed to dig up from the Pokemon Home update:
Unfortunately, the names of these techniques were all miners could manage to find. So we don’t know what these moves do, what their attributes are, what Pokemon can learn them, or even if they’re just placeholder names. However — as mentioned — we do know thatthis is a list of new Pokemon movesbecause it includes one called “Jungle Healing.”
The Pokemon Company confirmed back in April that Jungle Healing was a new move coming to the Pokemon world. It’s the signature technique of theMythical Pokemon Zarude, who’s the poster Pokemon of the recently delayedPokemon The Movie: Coco. If it’s on the list, then the other names have to be of new moves as well — at least that’s the only explanation that makes any sense. The Pokemon Company hasn’t confirmed anything, so it’s just speculation, even if datamines tend to be fairly accurate.
It’s also speculation that these moves will arrive alongsidethe upcoming Isle of ArmorSwordandShieldexpansion. While Jungle Healing strongly implies the list is of new attacks, it also shuts down the idea of them arriving in the upcoming DLC because Zarude is already confirmed to be a Mystery Gift event that’s happening only in Japan. But the Isle of Armor’s scope is grand enough that ifSwordandShieldwere to get new moves, it would be what adds them, so maybe some will appear with the DLC, and others with future updates.
Pokemon SwordandShieldare available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
