Construction management systemPrison Architect, where players are tasked with constructing and managing their own private prison, is getting the Jungle Pack DLC on February 7 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of the game.Prison Architectis also available for Nintendo Switch, but the DLC will not be available for Switch as Paradox is no longer supporting that version of the game.
Prison Architectfirst released as part of theSteam Early Access program, generating a dedicated fan base leading up to its full launch in 2015. Initially releasing for PC,Prison Architectwas eventually ported to home consoles. Support has continued for the game ever since, with new DLC, free updates, and more keeping fans engaged withPrison Architectfor the long-term. The Jungle Pack DLC is next on deck forPrison Architectfans.

The Jungle Pack DLC forPrison Architectwill cost $2.99 at launch and give players a new jungle-themed aesthetic to customize their prisons with. Players will be given the tools to create a jungle-themed prison complete with wooden furniture, new flooring types, new walls, and new doors that all fit the jungle theme.Prison Architectplayers can chop down trees to sell or gain lumber, with the option to build wood variants of structures like guard towers, drains, and more. The jungle environment also introduces some new threats, though, with the potential for tropical fever to spread among thePrison Architectinmates. Players can utilize new medical features like netted beds and fire pits to keep the disease at bay.
While the Jungle Pack DLC may be of most interest toPrison Architectfans, there’s also a new free update to look forward to on February 7 as well. Launching alongside the Jungle Pack DLC is the free Jailhouse update, which promises to introduce various quality-of-life improvements to the game along with a new Yorkshire Terrier dog. Between the free update and the Jungle Pack DLC, it seems safe to say that February 7 is going to be a big day forPrison Architectfans.
Prison Architectis nearly eight years old at this point, so it will be interesting to see how long it continues to receivenew premium DLC and free updateslike this. It’s possible the developers will eventually move on, but for now,Prison Architectfans can mark February 7 on their calendars.
