PUBG: Battlegroundscontinues to be robustly supported with post-launch content and updates. The battle royale game has now been available for four and a half years and, as evidence of that, it’s approaching its 18th season of ranked competition. Season 18 will bring with itPUBG: Battlegrounds' update 18.1, which Krafton has now detailed ahead of the update’s early-to-mid June launch.PUBG: Battlegroundsplayers can expect some exciting changes, including the return of the original Sanhok map to Team Deathmatch Mode.

Sanhok wasPUBG: Battlegrounds' third map and the first map to have 4x4 kilometer dimensions, making it perfect for fast-paced and aggressive combat. However, for a variety of reasons Krafton “remastered” Sanhok, reworking the map and changing its gameplay entirely. With Season 17, in response to feedback,Krafton reverted Sanhokback to its original form for battle royale modes. With Season 18, Krafton is bringing the original Sanhok back to Team Deathmatch Mode, as well.

Update 18.1 will also feature a sweeping item spawn rebalancing. That means the rates that items are found on any given map are being changed, soPUBG: Battlegroundslooting with take some getting used to again. The primary focus of the rebalancing is to increase the amount of healing items found inErangel and Miramar. This is because some recent changes have led to gameplay changes revolving around healing items, like more weapons spawning and so there’s an increased need for healing items.

The last focus of the 18.1 update is, of course, the launch of Season 18 itself. Season 18 is just the latest season of Ranked play to be available inPUBG: Battlegrounds. There’s one notable change to Ranked play for Season 18, which is thatSquad - FPPwill no longer be available on consoles in NA and EU. A lack of players has made the queue unfeasible.

There are, of course, a number of other smaller changes coming as part of update 18.1 forPUBG: Battlegrounds.Paramohas had some notable changes, in particular, with rocks being added for cover around the Lab and Atahul, and a strange spiral-shaped object added near Paramo. A mission list for Special Drops has been added in-game, too. Also, over a dozen lingering bugs have been addressed.
