Summary
Raid Shadow Legendsbegan as a mobile,free-to-play gamein 2018. However, being developed using the Unity engine, the game was quickly released to be fully cross-platform shortly after launch. With both PvE and PvP elements, the game offers fun gameplay in a simple-to-understand, almost casual format.
Thenew player experienceinRaid Shadow Legendsis well-polished. Every player is handed specific champions at strategic stages of the initial campaign. These champions can help the player to progress into the mid and end-game stages. Some of these free champions are very easy to max skills for.

7Warpriest
A Competent Early Game Healer
Warpriest is given to every newRaid Shadow Legendsplayer very early on in thetutorialpart of the campaign. She is a decent healer, although she does not make top-tier. However, in the early to mid-game, she is going to be solid support for a new player.
During the tutorial and subsequent easy quests and challenges, the player will receive enough rare skill books to fully upgrade the skills of two rare champions. One will be the starting champion in thisRPG game, and Warpriest is the logical choice for the 2nd. It is arguable whether it is worth taking Warpriest over level 50. However, she can find a place in a Sacred Order faction warfare team at level 60.

6Spirithost
A Great Early Game Buffer
Spirithost can be farmed from stage 4 of the campaign. This means that a player won’t need to invest rare skill books to train her, they can simply farm multiples of this champion and use those duplicates as skill books. She brings an increase speed and increase attack buff to a team early on in the game.
It may not be worth taking Spirithost past level 50, depending on which champions a player pulls from shards whilst completing the first campaign playthrough. However, she is great up to mid-game as a regular team member forPvE content, and also as a member of aPvParena team.

5Warmaiden
Fantastic Early Game Debuffer
Warmaiden can be farmed from stage 9 of the campaign, which means there is no need to invest rare skills books into skilling her up. She brings a fantastic debuff to the table, in the form of an AOE decrease defense debuff. This ability alone earns her a place on arena teams until the mid to late-game stage.
Alongside the player’s starting champion, Warpriest, and Spirithost, Warmaiden will see the player through the entire normal-level campaign. She is also very strong at level 60 as part of a Barbarians faction warfare team. Overall, she is well worth taking to level 60 inRaid Shadow Legends.

4Diabolist
Early Game Turn Meter Control
Diabolist can be farmed from stage 12 of the campaign, so she is anotherRaid Shadow Legendschampion that can have their skills fully upgraded without investing rare skill tomes. She brings two very useful abilities to a team. Firstly, a turn meter boost for her own team, and secondly, a turn meter debuff for enemies.
Until the player receives High Khatun as their 30-day login reward, Diabolist is going to be the best option for turn meter control in the early game. She is also very useful as part of a tag team arena lineup.

3Athel
Strong Starter Champion
Athel is one of the 4 champions that a new player toRaid Shadow Legendscan pick as their starting champion. She is excellent, and is a solid pick, being only marginally outclassed by Kael. She has an increase attack self-buff and a good, high-damage AOE attack.
Athel is also a good choice to use as a solo farming champion, when dressed in lifesteal gear and fully leveled up. During the early stages of the game, a new player will receive enough rare skill books to train 2 rare champions fully. Players who choose Athel as their starting champion should make sure she is one of these.

2High Khatun
Epic Level Speed Booster
High Khatun is an epic-level champion that is given to allRaid Shadow Legendsplayers as a 30-day login reward. By this stage, a new player will have been given enough epic skill books as rewards to fully upgrade her skills. She will then become the cornerstone of a player’s team in all content until they unlock a better option much later in the game.
With her team speed buff and advanced turn meter control abilities, she can carry a player through most of the content in the game when geared properly. Yes, there are better champions that can fill this role, such as Deacon Armstrong, but it is not guaranteed a player will gain access to them. Every player gets High Khatun for free.

1Kael
The Best Starting Champion
Kael is a textbook nuker. He is the best of the 4 champions that a player can pick as a starting champion. He only slightly outclasses Athel, as he has a rather nice poison debuff that adds extra viability for late-game activities and boss fights.
Kael should be the first champion that a new player toRaid Shadow Legendsinvests skill books in. Considering a player is handed plenty of free skill books during the initial campaign, he can be fully skilled very easily. He needs to be kitted out in lifesteal gear, and leveled to 60 as soon as possible. Once Kael has been maxed, he can be used to farm experience and as the core member of a team for allall game modes.
