A Reddit user named Caterpill420 took a screenshot during a thunderstorm, where a bolt of lightning struck the top of the church inSaint Denis. Thunderstorms are very infrequent withinRed Dead Redemption 2and can occur when the player is least expecting it. Not only is the likelihood of this actually occuring extremely slim, but the fact that someone was there to there to capture this image in-game is incredibly lucky.
It’s amazing to see just how intense of a technical leap was made fromRed Dead Redemption 1to the second installment. The first entry in the series, although very ambient and atmospheric in terms of its environments, lacked any of the dynamic weather mechanics seen throughoutRed Dead Redemption 2. Thus, moments like the one Caterpill420 just captured inRed Dead Redemption 2would never occur in the same way.
Despite releasing over three years ago,Red Dead Redemption 2has managed to maintain its popularity and relevancy within the gaming community. The fact that fans are still celebrating the game all these years later via fan-art, cosplay, and mods is truly impressive. One user even managed toreviveUndead Nightmareand put it inRed Dead Redemption 2as a mod.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds forRed Dead Redemption 2going forward. While the bulk of newRed Dead Redemptioncontent has recently come in the form ofRed Dead Online, many fans are speculating a remaster of the originalRed Dead Redemption. Although, these rumors have yet to be officially confirmed by Rockstar Games.
