In a recent trailer, theResident Evil 4remake confirmed the return of a fan-favorite mode, as well as a special demo coming soon. The lead-up to the heavily anticipated remake of the critically acclaimed survival horror action gameResident Evil 4has been filled with news relating to what is set to return to the game, as well as what is either new or changed.
In the originalResident Evil 4, when a player beats the game, they are given several other things they can do. There’s theNew Game Plus, allowing them to replay the game with all their previous gear and items. There were the two side stories starring the game’s side character Ada Wong, Separate Ways and Assignment Ada, which follow her during and after the events of the main game. Lastly, there was one other mode, called The Mercenaries, serving as a game mode where players take on Ganados with several characters from theResident Evilfranchise for higher scores.

A new trailer was shown for theResident Evil 4remake during the latest State of Play, ending with the announcement thatThe Mercenaries is coming back. While nothing was shown of The Mercenaries game mode, its announcement is exciting. The trailer also confirmed that a “Special Demo” is coming soon.
As a whole, the trailer shows plenty to be excited about. It showcased parts of the Castle area with Leon and Luis fighting monks together, including a shot of Leon suplexing a monk. It also showed off Krauser, a boss from the original game, with the iconic knife battle between him and Leon actually being gameplay when it used to be a QTE.QTEs won’t be in theResident Evil 4remake, so it was interesting to see how the knife fight will play out without them. Along with that, there was much more in the trailer, including the mine cart rides, the Garradors, and a better look at Lord Saddler, the main antagonist.
With the announcement of The Mercenaries mode returning along with a demo to come soon,Resident Evil 4remake is showing itself to be a passionate remake full of the things that made fans love the original back in 2005. There’s even more for fans to look forward to in the remake, with aVR mode confirmed to be in development.While there is no determined date as to when the demo will be released, fans shouldn’t have to wait long, as the game’s release date is fast approaching.
Resident Evil 4will release on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 24.
