A key part of Capcom’s business strategy has always been porting its big games to as many platforms as possible. This is readily apparent with Capcom’s blockbuster survival-horror franchiseResident Evil, with various entries from the series brought to nearly every gaming platform imaginable. Now it seems as though some of the more recentResident Evilgames will be making the jump to next-generation consoles, and it could happen in the very near future.

Native PlayStation 5 versions ofResident Evil 2,Resident Evil 3, andResident Evil 7have been spotted on the PSN database, suggesting that the updates could come in the very near future. As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t be out of the question for the updates to hit PS5 and Xbox Series X as early as next week, as Capcom is hosting a special presentation on June 13 where an announcement like this could be made.

ACapcom showcaseis scheduled for Monday, June 13 at 3pm PT. Capcom is expected to showcase its upcoming games at the event, though the only game that’s actually been confirmed for the show is theMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakexpansion. It would be surprising ifResident Evildidn’t have a presence at the event, though, so chances are good that the next-gen updates will at least be talked about, if not stealth-launched, next week.

Besides potentialnext-gen upgrades forResident Evil 2,Resident Evil 3, andResident Evil 7, it’s possible that fans will learn about otherResident Evilgames as well. Alternatively, it’s possible Capcom will showcase more of theResident Evil VillageVR port instead, or maybe even thelong-awaitedResident Evil VillageDLC.Resident Evil VillageDLC was announced shortly after the game’s launch, but fans still have no idea when it will be out or what it will entail.

BesidesResident Evil, Capcom fans can count on seeing some of the company’s other franchises on display as well.
