A major leak forAvowed, the upcoming fantasy RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, just dropped Sunday morning. ConsideringAvowedwas only just revealed this past week during the Xbox Games Showcase with a cinematic trailer, any official details are highly valued. But this rumored information goes far beyond just general details, even claiming thatAvowedis “much much larger thanSkyrim,” which is quite the claim for a game still years away from launching.

There are about 20 specific rumors of interest in the supposed leak, which comes from ResetEra user sponger. The first five deal with the world ofAvowed. It statesAvowedis a “fully open world, much much larger thanSkyrim.” However, it qualifies this by saying it’s a different type of larger in that it’s “denser and “more contrasted.” This world is Eora, which is thePillars of Eternitysetting, and in this world there will be a real-time weather system, as well as “world-reactivity” which they describe as lighting, next-gen AI systems, and physics.

Past describing the world ofAvowed, the leaker moves on to specific features.Avowedis said to have a “very advanced” character creation tool, but no details about what that means are provided. It’ll also have mod support, which would be exciting on Xbox Series X. Bosses will be a part of the game, with some said to be “very very large.” It’ll also have factions, as well as companions, but both are described as something unique rather than similar toSkyrimorOuter Worlds.

Perhaps most importantly, the leaked talks aboutAvowed’s current development status.Avowedis in full production with around 100 people on the project andObisidian bringing more on. In total, the game’s been in development for two years and seven months, which means Obsidian’s been working on it since before it was acquired by Microsoft. The leaker says that Obsidian’s current plan is to launchAvowedin another two to two and a half years, around late 2022 or early 2023.

There are other small details aboutAvowedthat are interesting, like that Obsidian wants every character in the game to be killable like theElder Scrollsfranchiseused to allow. Or how Obsidian will ensure that the game is filled with lore, landmarks, creatures, and more from thePillars of Eternitygames. The leaker’s goal was said to be for fans to know the game “has very strong vision and is in good hands.” Of course, all of this should be taken with a massive grain of salt, as nothing has been confirmed.

As exciting as the leaks are, it sounds like the game is still a very long way off. It may be some time beforeMicrosoft and Obsidian can share more information. But, if the leak proves true, it very much sounds like it’ll be worth the wait.
