As revealed by sources close to Insider Gaming, therelease date ofDragon Age: Dreadwolfmay be further away than the previously rumored 2023 launch window. The report doesn’t mention any new tentative date forDreadwolf, but it could come out in 2024, resulting in a massive 10-year gap between its predecessorDragon Age: Inquisition. The sources also give an update on the progress BioWare has made onDreadwolf, claiming that it still lacks features and completed voice lines, while having elements from its live service roots.
According to two sources, the multiplayer aspects ofDragon Age: Dreadwolfcan still be seen in the current version of the game, with one making comparisons toDestinyand the central hub. The report states thatDragon Age: Dreadwolfwill involve recruiting party membersand growing the main crew, who will then populate the hub and allow users to change their equipment. This sounds fairly similar to how Skyhold worked as a hub inDragon Age: Inquisition, soDreadwolfmay feature the same gameplay loop.
AsDragon Age: Dreadwolfstarted as a live service game and changed its direction midway through development, it probably comes as no surprise to see BioWare take such a long time to develop the game. A 2023 release looks out of the question judging by this report, so fans will probably have to wait until 2024 or even later to playDreadwolf. However, players should take every rumor or leak with a grain of salt, and wait for official information from the development team on the progress of the game.
