Announced earlier this year,Abandonedis an open world survival game which is causing a bit of a stir in the community. Touted as potentially beingan addition to theSilent Hillseries, perhaps even a reboot, developer Blue Box Game Studio initially announced the game as a PS5 exclusive. However, recent developments state that it will also be available on PC upon release.

According to a recent report, a post on Twitter seems to confirm that PC gamers will also get to enjoyAbandoned. Blue Box responded to a user who said that they did not have possession of a PS5, suggesting that they wouldn’t be able to play the game, to which the studio replied by saying that the “PC community shall rejoice.” With this, it almost confirms that the survival game will not be a PS5 exclusive, and it may even open the door for other ports as well.

Much has been discussed about the game and its possible ties in with theSilent Hillfranchise. While fan theories have been doing the rounds on the internet, the studio has insisted that their game does not have any links to Hideo Kojima or Konami and its IP. In fact, a few days ago,Blue Box had to issue an apology over the confusion thatAbandonedwas a newSHgame. The confusion began when the developer put out a series of cryptic tweets which asked people to “guess the name.” Blue Box then hinted that the first letter was an S and the last letter was an L, i.e.Silent Hill.

Unfortunately, it seems as though the gaming community has got it all wrong, asthe studio recently issued a statement denying any ties toSHor Kojima. The team insists that this is a “passionate title” being worked on independently after the studio had been collaborating with other companies for some time. Alongside this, Kojima is also allegedly beginning work on his next project, which is set to be an Xbox exclusive which should put the theory to rest as Blue Box’s title is a PS5 and PC exclusive at least for now.

With the rumors going around, even though they’re being refuted,Abandonedis already making a name for itself. Anofficial trailer for the game was only revealed in April, but it’s arguably theSilent Hilltheories that have really made the community pay attention. Officially, it seems as though it isn’t associated with the Konami series, but it still looks like an interesting game in its own right. And it’s likely to draw in a bigger crowd now that it’s coming to PC as well.

Abandonedis slated to launch later this year for PS5 and PC.
