The launch trailer shows off many of the game’s features, with a focus on platforming and hand-crafted levels. With new perspectives and camera angles for players to explore, as well asSackboy: A Big Adventurerunning at 60 FPS, the game looks far different from theLittleBigPlanetseries. The trailer has a large focus onSackboy: A Big Adventure’s storyas well, with Craftworld coming under threat via a new antagonist called Vex. The villain has god-like powers and looks like an mix between a Jester and Oogie Boogie fromThe Nightmare Before Christmas. From a story perspective, this seems to be by far the most fleshed-out character Sackboy has ever encountered. With a bigger focus on cutscenes and multiple boss fights shown in the trailer, the encounters with Vex should be memorable.

It is worth noting that there is a catch to the co-op action shown in the footage, asSackboy: A Big Adventurewill only feature local co-op at launch. Though it was originally planned for the game to have online co-op from the get-go, the feature has been delayed to ensure it functions properly. With it still coming before the end of the year, however,Sackboy: A Big Adventure’s multiplayer delayshould not be too troublesome for people looking to play with friends.

The launch trailer showcases the positive influence of theLittleBigPlanetseries on developer Sumo Digital. With the jump pads keeping their classic style fromLBP 2, a catchy song being played in the background, and numerous costumes shown off that make Sackboy look even cuter, the trailer does its job of showing how fun the game can be. Withspecial costumes based on PlayStation franchiseslikeDeath Strandingavailable, people should see plenty of variety when multiplayer arrives.

Based on this launch trailer,Sackboy: A Big Adventureseems to deliver on its promise of fun times and solid platforming. Withpositive reviews for Sackboy’s solo outingsharing the same outlook,Sackboy: A Big Adventuremay be worth picking up forLBPfans and newcomers alike.
