Becoming a fixture of the modern blockbuster over the last decade, the vast majority of games now feature a photo mode, allowing players to pause the action and frame a striking screenshot. FromDeath StrandingandSuper Smash Bros UltimatetoRed Dead Redemption 2andMarvel’s Spider-Man,games from a variety of genres have implemented the ability to capture amazing images.
It seemsPlayStation’s now looking to reach out to its community and compile some of the best examples of these in-game captures, teaming up with Red Bull to host avirtual photographycompetition. The “Red Bull Capture Point” contest will only be open to US players and can be entered from now until May 2.

For those wondering what the rules are, players can take up to 18 in-game screenshots from five participating PlayStation titles:Demon’s Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn,andThe Last of Us 2.After grabbing a screenshot from any of the games included, they must be uploaded from the console to Twitter along with the hashtags “#RedBullCapturePoint” and “#Contest.” The screenshots will then be judged by a panel of video game creatives from the studios behind each participating game, with there being a selection of winners in a number of categories.
As for what the creators of the top-rated pieces in each category will receive, it seems they’ll be awarded a bundle of PlayStation goodies, including a PlayStation 5, a DualSense controller, a charging kit, a pulse headset, 12 months of PS Plus, 12 months of PS Now, one ofPlayStation’s upcoming blockbuster releases, and a Red Bull trophy. They’ll also be advanced to the Best of Show competition which will net the winners even more prizes. Third place in the contest will receive $500, second place will receive $1,000 dollars, and first place will win a whopping $1,500 dollars. It’s definitely a good opportunity for fans of each game with a solid eye for photography.

PlayStationand Redbull’s Capture Point contest will run from February 2 to May 2.
