The Book of Boba Fettis less than a month away from hitting Disney Plus, and now new photos from theStar Warsseries have been unveiled. The images offer fans a glimpse at the partnership between Boba Fett and Fennec Shad.
After being left for dead in the aftermath of a confrontation withThe Mandalorian’s Din Djarin, Fennec Shand was saved by Boba Fett, who similarly survived the near-impossible to escape jaws of the Sarlacc inStar Wars: Return of the Jedi. After confronting and then assisting Djarin, Fett and Shand were last seen inThe Mandalorianseason 2 finale’s post-credits scene, where they assumed control of the late Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

The newly released images show bothBoba Fett and Fennec Shandin different locations around Tatooine. The main goal for these two is to take over a part of the criminal underworld once owned by Jabba the Hutt. This will be a sort of comeback for the bounty hunter, as this was also the planet where he nearly met the end of his life. Both characters ‘returned’ from the dead and were able to work together, meeting in the middle to discover they had common interests.
The friendship was introduced inThe Mandalorian,but it will be further fleshed out in this upcoming Boba Fett series.Fennec Shand actor Ming-Na Wentalked with The Direct about the upcoming show and said, “Well, there’s a partnership between the two of them [Fennec and Boba Fett], for sure. They’re bonded by the fact that they both lived through a near-death experience. And there is a sense of code that they both abide by.” Neither character is considered a golden role model, but they’re not evil either. “[It’s] not that they’re the bad guys. They’re not that good either. We are the anti-hero. I like playing an anti-hero. You get away with more, I think” Ming-Na Wensays. The cool thing about the characters is that they’re self-serving, they’re focused on their goal and nothing else will get in the way.
They’re not looking to take over the galaxy, they’re not looking to fight against the empire or the Sith. All they’re looking to do is take advantage of what they can for themselves and stay out of the spotlight. They take the cards that they were dealt and make sure to get the best result from it, which in storytelling always makes for an interesting character.
Characters with a complex sense of morality or those who don’t abide by the law are the ones fans usually gravitate to. Fans look at them as an escape, since in society many people can’t get away with living out the fictional lives of these characters.Boba Fettwill hopefully deliverso that it can potentially get a second season.
