Summary

Stardew Valleydev Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has given fans an update about the launch of the 1.6 update on consoles and mobile. While gamers on PC are enjoyingStardew Valley’s latest updatealready, as usual, the other versions of the game have lagged behind.

Considering the size and scope ofStardew Valley, especially after so many updates, fans tend to be understanding that creating a satisfactory port takes time. There was some frustration with the 1.5 update, as mobile players in particular were left waiting a year to give it a try. Players on mobile devices are likely hoping the same doesn’t happen with the 1.6 version, which has led to ConcernedApe providing frequent updates on how it’s progressing on consoles and mobile.

ConcernedApebriefly took to Twitter to explain that the port is coming along, but that he still doesn’t have a window for its release. He notes that he understands how excited the community on non-PC systems are to try the new update out, and that he’s doing “everything within his power” to get them ready for launch as fast as he can. However, he also notes that the ports require additional work, so from the sound of it, they won’t be ready for a while yet. Additionally, he notes that the PC version of the game will be receiving another update in the future to help deal with some bugs that have emerged.

In general, the community seems to be taking the news well. There are definitely fans who are envious of their PC counterparts, but it’s hard to be generally mad about the situation. ConcernedApe largely works alone on game development, and taking time to get the releases right instead of launching them in a broken state is ideal for everyone involved. The fact that the updates are always 100% free and haveexpanded the content inStardew Valleyfar beyond what was originally planned just adds to this.
