A gamer accidentally trapped Marnie, an important saleswoman inStardew Valley, after an unfortunate attempt to perform an exploit. Players will meet dozens of lovelycharacters inStardew Valley. They will be able to become close friends with most characters, and they can even marry some of the bachelors and bachelorettes in-game and grow a life together. The characters that can be gifted have friendship meters, which can range between zero and 10 hearts; the maximum number of hearts increases to 14 if the player and the villager move in together.
Players will only get access to a villager’s room if they’ve filled the second heart on the meter. Before then, the character won’t trust the player enough to let them in. To improve afriendship inStardew Valley, gamers must invest in a character by talking to them and gifting them items that they will appreciate. Other actions will also add points to the friendship meter, but they can’t be performed as often. If gamers neglect this character, the friendship will also gradually decrease.
The “Mayor’s Shorts” quest is one of the most notorious tasks inStardew Valley. Players will be asked to discreetlyfind Mayor Lewis’s purple shorts. TheStardew Valleycommunity has put every piece of this puzzle together and concluded that the mayor is in a secret relationship with Marnie, the woman living on the ranch. It’s always fun to complete this quest, so naturally, Reddit user SubarashiiChinChin wanted to do it as soon as possible, and this caused them to accidentally trap Marnie after trying to get into her room by placing a chair next to the door.
This exploit became available with the release of update 1.5, and it allows players toget into off-limit areas inStardew Valley. This fan wasn’t able to access Marnie’s room, as they hadn’t become close enough friends with her yet, so they tried to get inside with the chair exploit, but their unfortunate timing trapped Marnie between the chair and the door.
The player was still able to interact with Marnie through the door, but it would’ve taken at least one or two weeks to increase their friendship to open her bedroom door. Thankfully, a Redditor in the comments came to SubarashiiChinChin’s rescue. They mentioned how if players activate the cursor option, it would make it possible to grab and drag objects. This option was meant to make decorating inStardew Valleyeasier, but it did the trick and got Marnie out of the tough situation in no time.
