Akila City is the heart of the Freestar Collective inStarfield. Here, players can find more freedom than the United Colonies has to offer with New Atlantis. However, Akila City is not for everyone. It’s usually a crowded place, and the city is divided into tight districts. Nevertheless, combining sci-fi with a Western has never felt so good in thisStarfieldcity.

Akila City has much to offer new players or those who are just curious about the city in general. There are plenty of vendors, quests, and points of interest inStarfieldto explore and marvel over when it comes to exploring Akila City. After all, this location is where players can become a Ranger.

How To Get To Akila City

After completing the first story mission inStarfield, players have the freedom to unlock the galaxy that awaits them. Within this galaxy, players can find Akila Cityin the Cheyenne System, located on the planet Akila. It’s to the upper right of Alpha Centauri, and players can find themselves in Akila City in no time with the main quest, The Empty Nest, however, they can venture there in their own free time and will. However, it’s worth noting that the Cheyenne system is under the control of the Freestar Collective faction, so players should be wary if they have any contraband, as their ship will be scanned.

Spaceport

From the moment players land their ships in Akila City, they will be located at the Spaceport. Their ship is always going to be located at Gate 02, but there isn’t much to see from the Spaceport other than the welcoming sign leading players forward into Akila City. Around the Spaceport, players can find an old-fashioned wooden wall to protect the city from alien creatures and criminals that would try and cause the city harm.

Here’s a detailed look at the Spaceport in Akila City:

Ship Services

Before players head into the city, directly in front of Gate 02 they will find the Ship Services shop. Inside, isa Ship Technician that can be usedto repair the ship, purchase upgrades, parts, new ships, and even access the Ship Building menu. This Ship Technician has exclusive parts from HopeTech, with a Trade Authority Kiosk stationed outside to unload goods.

Midtown (Left)

Upon entering Akila City, the first zone to make their acquaintance is Midtown. This is the central area of Akila City, as the map is rather tightly knitted together. Within Midtown, players will find an abundance of vendors and desirables to interact with, as well as a statue honoring the founder of the city, Solomon Coe in Coe Plaza.

RELATED:Starfield: Early-Game Mistakes To Avoid

Considering Akila City is quite compact, it’s best to dissect the location, starting with the left.

Here’s everything players can find to the left of Midtown:

Sheperd’s General Store

To the left of the entrance of Akila City, players will find Emerson, a tired vendor whosells all manners of goods. Players can pick up a variety of items from this character, provided they have the Credits. Emerson Sheperd doesn’t sell anything unique, but he’s a great vendor to sell to, or if players need a few items for their health or ammo.

Guard Barracks

Heading up the stairs from Sheperd’s General Store, players will find the Guard Barracks, as well as the guard Davis Wilson arguing with a scientist about ways to protect the city. Talking to David Wilson will start theDefensive Measures quest, but players can check inside the Guard Barracks to find the small area where the Akila City Security team hunkers down in their free time.

Akila Prison

Down the stairs and to the left of the Guard Barracks is the Akila Prison. Here, players can expect to find any civilians or criminals who need some time behind bars. Although, upon entering the prison, they might find that it’s a bit small, which isn’t surprising considering the lawless and trigger-happy nature ofthe Freestar Rangers.

Enhance!

Heading up the stairs and following to the right, players will bump into another Enhance building. This is where players can get cosmetic surgery done to change their character creation. Inside, the vendor Rose is more than happy to help players develop a new look for themselves.

Coe Heritage Museum

In the building next to Enhance! players can find the Coe Heritage Museum, which is a great visit for those who love some addedStarfieldlore dedicated to Akila City. Simply speak to Leah Casler inside to learn more about the museum. Any artifacts from the Coe family can also be given to her for a price, so she can add them to her museum.

Sanctum Universum

Heading up the stairs to the right of the Coe Heritage Museum, players will be able to enter Sanctum Universum, a location dedicated to one of the religions ofStarfield. It’s a small place of worship, but they can find Si-Woo Gwan inside who is more than happy to be in charge of bringing the Keepers to Akila City.

Akila City Apartment

Just outside the Sanctum Universum is the Akila City Apartment that players can purchase. This is technically a part of the Stretch, but it’s a humble home. Players can purchase the Akila City Apartment for 45,000 Credits from Ngodup Tate. However, save the credits, as there is a more pricey and nicer home in Akila City.

Sinclair’s Books

Just to the edge of the Stretch is Sinclair’s Books, where players can find all sorts of notes and books to find new adventures in literature and location. Players just need to talk to Ahnjong Sinclair inside. Players can even sell her their old Earth books from classic writers.

Stoneroot Inn

Following on from the road past Sinclair’s Books, players can enter Stoneroot Inn. Inside, they’ll find the owner Eloise Reed, whom players can rent a room from, or buy aid items. There’s also Kate Foley, who tries pretty hard to get Eloise to take a few days off and enjoy a vacation with her. Inside are a few unnamed crew members that aren’t too special.

Aldin Wright’s Workshop

Although players can’t purchase anything from Aldwin’s work, they can watch him admire and fix some robots. There are also a few workbenches here that players can use free of charge. That is if they know how to use them.

Langston Manor

Frank Langston and Elizabeth Cardwell reside here, but it’s safe to say they are not the most beloved residents of Akila City. Players can visit their house, but there’s not much here other than some pricey items.

Rowland Arms

Opposite Akila City’s GalBank, players can locate Rowland Arms, a humble armory where players can purchaseguns and ammofrom the vendor Belle Rowland. She has a nice collection of weapons for sale, including The Zapper and Elegance, for those players who really want to live out their cowboy fantasy.

Chunks

Following the stairs from Rowland Arms, players can locate Chunks, a commercial fast-food vendor that seems to be everywhere in the galaxy. Chunks specialize in tasty foods that have been shaped in cubes, so it’s a decent enough aid item for those who want a snack rather than a Med Pack.

Midtown Minerals

For players who need a few resources, Midtown Minerals has them covered. It’s located up the stairs of Midtown and towards the left of The Rock. Alejandra Kane is the vendor here, and she sells plenty of inorganic resources that players can use for their crafting.

Midtown (Right)

With the left side of Midtown discussed, it’s time to take a look at all that the right side has to offer, including a few more shops and characters that are worth noting for the full Akila City tour.

This video serves as a tour of the right side of Midtown:

cheyenne solar system

Hitching Post

To the right of the city entrance, the Hitching Post resides, a perfect and quiet little spot to catch a drink and enjoy the safety of the city. The Hitching Post is a nice bar area and the vendor, Jaden Ross has a few aid items to purchase. Players can find Mission Board and Self-Service Bounty Clearance Kiosks here. There may even be a mysterious character, the Hunter, leaning on a wall. There are also two hirable crew members:

13,500 Credits, Persuade for a discount.

GalBank

A GalBank can be found practically all over the Settled Systems, and Akila City is no exception. Even if it’s had its fair share of hooligans try and rob it on occasion. Inside, players will find William Crowley, the bank teller who isn’t much for conversation. Downstairs, players can locate the vault, which has a few safes to be Digipicks on, but there’s nothing of value worth noting. This area is mainly used for The Empty Nest mission.

House of the Enlightened

Another accessible religion in Akila City is the House of the Enlightened. Antin Goraya can be found inside, and players can ask him questions about the religion and its purpose in Akila City.

Trade Authority

To the right of the House of the Enlightened is the Trade Authority. In here, players are free to trade their goods, and their goods, for a fee. The Trade Authority will take Contraband, stolen items, and anything the player is willing to part with, all thanks to the vendor Duncan Lynch.

TerraBrew

Following on the beaten path to the right of Midtown, players will of course find another TerraBrew. The galaxy needs its coffee, and TerraBrew is there to provide it. Inside this location, players will (unfortunately) run into the Adoring Fan, who just so happens to be there by coincidence, but only if they have the Hero Worshiped Trait. Talking to the TerraBrew Employee, players can order themselves an aid drink.

The Core

The Core is known as the center of Akila City, the location where players can expect the most action. From here, they will be able to find thememorial to Solomon Coe, as well as the home base of the Freestar Rangers. It’s impossible to miss due to the large building, and the fact that it’s placed in the center of the map.

These are the points of interest players can find in The Core:

Akila City’s spaceport during sunset

The Rock

The Rock is the headquarters of the Freestar Collective. Inside, the Deputies, Rangers, and the Marshal of the Freestar Collective spend their downtime and focus on their operations for the Settled Systems. It’s as Old West as it gets in The Rock, and it’s plenty of fun to immerse once inside, especially with the side quests from the Freestar Rangers.

The Core Residence

This expensive house will set players back a whopping 78,000 Credits if they purchase it from Ngodup Tate, Akila City’s realtor. Inside, isa lovely home that players can addto their collection, right in the heart of the Freestar Collective.

Lance Estate

Neighboring the Core Residence, players can pick the lock of this door if they have a Master skill. It’s not worth looting, or the confusion of Digipicks.

Akila City Consulate

Aaron Scott serves the Council of Governors from within this building, and players can ask any questions they may have once inside.

Coe Estate

Inside the Coe Estate is Jacob Coe, the father of Sam Coe. Jacob Coe keeps the legacy of his name at the utmost of priorities and has a strained relationship with his son Sam because of it. Players will have to come here as part of The Empty Nest quest.

Cartwright Estate

This large house belongs to the mayor of Akila City, Elias Cartwright. This character is well-sophisticated, well-spoken, and doesn’t mind a good conversation or two. Elias is more than happy to talk about the city, so feel free to ask him questions.

The Stretch

Regarded as the Slums of Akila City, the Stretch doesn’t have much to look at in terms of wealth and prosperity. It’s not unusual to see a neglected part of a city, and Akila is no exception, with the Stretch seemingly made of salvage and civilians who attempt to help each other get by. There are still a few points of interest in the Stretch worth mentioning, despite its looks.

The Stretch is home to these locations:

The Slums

As players make their way through the Stretch, they’re bound to find a few named NPCs. None of them really offer much outside of a few voice lines, but Marko Jansen and his family have a quest for the player titled Rough Landings. In another of these houses, players will find Amira Wolf, who asks for a donation of Credits to help with the Low House, a pub that helps low-income families.

Honest Earl’s Alien Extravaganza

For 10 Credits, players can pay Earl Fulton to visit his poor excuse for a petting zoo. There really isn’t much about this place that’s alien, nor is there a lot for players to enjoy, so it’s best to keep the 10 Credits. However, if players have the parent Trait, they can bump into their mom and dad here.

Aggie’s

One bar where players can stop by for a drink is Aggie’s, which is owned by none other than Aggie herself. She’s a hardened character, offering aid items but at the price of no refunds. Ethan Nash is also a vendor here that sells similar items. Her bar is pretty crowded sometimes, but it houses some interesting characters and NPCs that can be recruited to join the ship crew:

Deimos Court

This small shanty building doesn’t hold much for players' interest, but there are three named NPCs located within. Coma, a drug addict who often rambles and giggles, and Mooch and Sammie can be found inside, just trying to get by in a harsh world.

Residential

To the left of Akila City, players will stumble into the Residential district. It’s far smaller than New Atlantis, with a notable heat to it. This area isn’t as fancy as the United Colonies counterpart, but the people here get by, and players can find a few notes of interest upon visiting.

The Residential area of Akila City holds these points of interest:

midtown in akila city, right side

Laredo Firearms

Just to the left is a small building called Laredo Firearms. This building is bigger on the inside, but players don’t have to worry about anything interesting. The main interest is Reisha Laredo, who has a selection of guns and ammo for purchase. These weapons are all designed by her and made in Akila City, so players who want Western guns inStarfieldshould head to Laredo Firearms.

Shooting Range

Near attached to Laredo Firearms is the Shooting Range, which players can visit freely to test their aim and awareness in combat situations. It’s a humble area, with wooden targets for players to shoot at, but nothing beats the classics.

South Gate

Following down from the Shooting Range, players can find the South Gate, which can be accessed at any time to leave the city into the dangerous world outside.

Henry Filburn’s House

Inside Henry Filburn’s House is Henry himself, who seems all too passionate about the brewing industry. So much so, that it’s distracting him from his job at IntelliWheat, which is seeking to solve hunger in the Settled Systems.

Weston Filburn’s House

Neighboring Henry’s house is his brother and his wife, Sarah. Both of them share a displeasure with Henry’s brewing obsession, due to the fact that they are supposed to be running a business. Talking to Sarah about her brother-in-law will start the Beer Run quest.

Filburn Agricultural Systems

Basically opposite the Filburn brothers’ houses is Filburn Agricultural Systems, where players can find Weston and his worries, but there’s not much else in here.

Recreation Field

If players want to kick back and enjoy some soccer, then the Recreation Field is perfect for some physical exercise and activities.
