With the advent of the Runeterra Reforged set inTeamfight Tactics, players can obtain everything from a potion-themed sprite to exclusive emotes, all for free. If players choose to invest in the Runeterra Reforged paid battle pass, they can acquire someiconic references toLeague of Legends, such as the Tower Defense Runespirit and the haunting Touch of the Void arena. The Runeterra Reforged set, also known as Set 9, introduces an entirely new mechanic called Region Portals. At the beginning of each game ofTeamfight Tactics, players can vote on one of three Region Portals. These portals cause unique effects that last the duration of the match, making each game feel fresh and innovative.
Although there are plenty of novel mechanics,Augments are here to stay. However, Set 9 improves on this idea with the implementation of Legends. Before a game ofTeamfight Tacticsstarts, players can pick one of 15 Legends, according to their preferred playstyle. These Legends have their very own Augments that are tailored toward aspects like Emblems,finding ideal items for units, and Critical Strike chance. These Legend-specific Augments appear periodically throughout the game, helping players customize theirTeamfight Tacticsexperience. Along with these mechanical changes, Set 9 reveals a new currency known as Treasure Tokens. These tokens are awarded by completing battle pass tiers, but their purpose is perplexing at first glance.

How to use Treasure Tokens in TFT
Treasure Tokens can be redeemed on the Treasure Realms tab of the TFT menu. Once a player has 100 Treasure Tokens, they can exchange them for a chest containing one item ofTeamfight Tacticsloot. There is a high probability this item will be a playable Tactician character, but there is a small chance to obtain an extremely rare item such as the Mecha Prime Zero arena or theChibi Lil Devil TeemoTactician.
After a player opens a total of 60 treasure chests, they are guaranteed to receive the advertised rare reward. When a player wants to redeem their Treasure Tokens, they can choose which rare drop they’d like to aim for. If they start to invest in the Mecha Prime Zero arena banner, then change their mind and purchase treasure chests for the Chibi Lil Devil Teemo Tactician, their 60 chest loot guarantee carries over.
How to get Treasure Tokens in TFT
The easiest way to obtain Treasure Tokens is by completing tiers of theRuneterra Reforged battle pass. To speed through this battle pass, players can completeTeamfight Tacticsquests, which can be viewed by pressing the scroll-shaped icon in the lower right corner of the launcher. Some quests are not too challenging, so they grant less battle pass XP, but the more difficult quests offer generous rewards. Players can receive a total of 200 Treasure Tokens from the free tiers of the battle pass, or they can collect 600 Treasure Tokens from the paid pass.
