The Boysseason 4 filming officially wrapped this week, and series star Karl Urban celebrated by sharing a new set photo featuring new cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan. However, Urban had to break the rules to share the set photo.
The Boyscenters on the conflict between the eponymous vigilantes, led by Urban’s Billy Butcher, and superpowered ‘heroes’ who abuse their power, particularly Antony Starr’s Homelander. The fourth season will introduce Morgan as a new character, though details on his role are still scarce.

The Boysseason 4 has wrapped filming, prompting Urban to post a set photo on Instagram. In the caption, Urban thanked the cast and crew for their hard work. The problem is the cast and crew are not allowed to post photos fromThe Boysseason 4 set, so Urban devised a clever workaround. The photo features Urban and Morgan facing the camera as they lean against a vehicle. So, Urban explained in the caption that the picture was taken while they were filming a Cadillac commercial. Unfortunately,The Boysseason 4 release date remains a mystery, as all Urban could say was that the series would return “soon… ish.”
While few would take Urban’s Cadillac commercial excuse seriously,The Boysshowrunner Eric Kripkeremoved any doubt there might have been by posting his own season 4 wrap photos. However, much like Urban’s photos, Kripke’s Twitter post offers little-to-no details onThe Boysseason 4 and when it will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Instead, fans can see a glimpse at series stars Jack Quaid and Karen Fukuhara in bloody makeup alongside Kripke. “2am. We’re exhausted. Bloody. But triumphant. My heart is full of love & gratitude to this all-time-great cast & crew. THAT’S A WRAP ON SEASON 4, MOTHERFUCKERS,” wrote Kripke.
Of course, as exciting as the wrap photos may be, fans are still eager to learnwho Morgan is playing inThe Boysseason 4. While fans can make guesses based on the original comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys series has taken creative liberties with the source material, so viewers will likely have to wait until the premiere date is closer to discover the truth.
The Boysseasons 1-3 are now available on Amazon Prime Video.
