Over the past 24 hours, Ubisoft had been teasing a major announcement for its open world looter shooter,The Division 2. As many correctly guessed, the announcement was for the next major expansion called Warlords of New York, taking players back to the big apple to wrap up lingering story threads from the first game. In addition tothe announcement and new trailer, Ubisoft also published over 10 minutes of brand new gameplay footage from the expansion.

Unlike the core gameplay insideThe Division 2, Warlords of New York sends players from Washington, D.C back to familiar stomping grounds of New York. In fact, this isn’t just a retread of the original map. As the new gameplay shows, players will be in Lower Manhattan this time around made up of four zones: Two Bridges, Civic Center, Battery Park, and Financial District.

Alongside the return to New York, players will finally be facing off with Aaron Keener, a former Division agent who turned rogue and orchestrated many of the events that transpired in the first game following the outbreak. Considering players never actually faced off against the rogue agent, he continued to consolidate power over the region, leading to the current state of things andthe threat of a new virus outbreak.

In order to get to Keener, players will need to take out his lieutenants and weaken his group. Each one is located in one of the four zones and in order to get to them, players will have to take on missions and investigations first. Thankfully, a new safe area called Haven is available and features returning characters like Rhodes who has attempted to move on from the events of the first game and isn’t thrilled things are starting to devolve once again.

In terms of gameplay, players are getting new tools to work with including the return of the sticky bomb. TheUI and gear systems have also been overhauledto help players optimize their gear faster and much easier than before. Players will also be battling familiar factions like the Rikers and Cleaners once more.

Thankfully,Division 2players won’t have to wait long to return to New York as this newest expansion arrives on March 3, with a new Episode launching on Feb 12 forYear One pass holdersand then everyone else on Feb 19. Players will also be able to create a level 30 character right at the start to jump right into the expansion if they want and Ubisoft has also announced that a season pass is also on the way to allow for more frequent content drops.

The Division 2is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
