The DLC train forSid Meier’s Civilization 6continues to chug along as another wave of DLC leaders is here. This is the fourth of six different waves of DLC leaders that Firaxis is adding via theLeader Pass, and each wave has really helped expand the leader pool in exciting new ways. Anyone who ownsCivilization 6and all its DLC can get these new leaders at no extra charge, while everyone else can pick up theLeader Passfor $19.99. Each leader brings something unique to the table, and they are all worth checking out.

The fourth wave of leaders is called theRulers of the Sahara, and it will bring with it three new powerful leaders that should help shake up the seven-year-old strategy game. While one of these leaders is simply an alternate leader for a pre-existing civilization, the other two arebrand-new leaders forSid Meier’s Civilization 6. Ptolemaic Cleopatra

Every wave of theLeader Passhas had at least one alternate persona for a pre-existing civilization, and theRulers of the Saharapack is no different. This time, that alternate persona comes in the form of Ptolemaic Cleopatra. While base Cleopatra’s focus is on building as many trade routes as she can to expand her treasury, Ptolemaic Cleopatra is all about boosting her food reserves and culture to pull in tourists. Her unique ability is called Arrival of Hapi, and it grants her +1 food and +1 culture for resources along floodplains. Each of those floodplains also grants her +1 appeal. All of these bonuses encourage players to have floodplains in their territory so that they can hopefully earn a Culture Victory.

Ramses

Ramses will be making his return to theSid Meier’s Civilizationfranchise with theRulers of the Saharapack. He will serve as an alternate leader for Egypt, and his goal also seems to be to win a Culture Victory. His special ability is called Abu Simbel, and it grants various bonuses to players for completing wonders and buildings. Players will earn culture equal to 15% of the production cost after completing a building, and 30% after completing a wonder. This means that players who want to build their culture fast will want to improve as many tiles as they can. This ability could make Egyptvery powerful in the Culture Victory race, as long as players use it well.

King Sundiata Keita

The final leader in theRulers of the Saharapack is King Sundiata Keita, marking his second appearance in theSid Meier’s Civilizationseries. He serves as an alternate leader for Mali, and he seems like he will be a force to be reckoned with if players use him well. His special ability is called Sogolon, which grants all sorts of bonuses for players who want a decent sized treasury. Purchasing Great People will cost him 20% less gold, markets get twoGreat Works of Writing slots, and each Great Work of Writing grants +4 gold and +2 production. This should give him the cash flow necessary to compete on the world stage.

TheRulers of the Saharapack is available inSid Meier’s Civilization 6right now for anyone who wants to give these three new leaders a shot. Players who haveall theCivilization 6DLCcan only look forward to two more DLC packs afterRulers of the Sahara, but they should give players even more reasons to hit one more turn.
