How to Get Lockpicks in The Outlast Trials
During the trials, players must maintain their health, stamina, sanity, and night vision. Health bottles, antidotes, batteries, andRig recharges are helpfulwhile exploring the trial maps, especially with murderous enemies mulling around. They can be picked up easily from shelves or open boxes, but some are hidden behind locks on tool kits, first aid kits, and other containers. So, players must get lockpicks to access them if they need a quick fix.
Lockpicks are found in random places throughout the map areas. Sometimes one can be picked up near a lockbox, but they can be found anywhere. Lockpicks are small, soplayers should search thoroughlywhen looking for one. They automatically go into one of the inventory slots, and whenever players approach a lockbox, the option to use one appears.
Using a lockpick triggers a series of quick time events where players must press the correct input during a time window. The event is a circular grid filled with red, green, and black bars with a spinning hand. Hit the specified input while the needle is in the green area to fill the lock code gradually. Players must do this consecutively a few times to pick the lock. Avoid missing the green zone as much as possible because messing up too often can cause health damage or releasea psychosis gas trap.
If players have difficulty finding a lockpick, they can look for a Master Key, which can be used as many times as needed on any lockbox. The Master Key is a rare drop insecret rooms during co-op matches. Secret rooms have two blue buttons outside their doors that must be pressed in tandem, and players can find all kinds of resources, including the Master Key.
