Attacking teams inRainbow Six Siegehave reason to rejoice with the release of Operation Vector Glare. Not only hasGlaz - one of the most niche operators in the game- gotten a third secondary weapon option by way of the Bearing 9 machine pistol, his base stats have also been changed from a 2-speed, 2-armor to a 3-speed, 1-armor. This allows aspiring snipers to get in and out of engagements quicker, making Glaz a fast-moving glass cannon with his OTs-03 marksman rifle.
While Glaz’s changes seem minor at first glance, his ability to combo withRainbow Six Siege’s new operator Sens makes him more viable in this season. Sens' primary gadget, the R.O.U. projection system, is a deployable wheel-like device that leaves small projectors in its path. The projectors create a wall of light that obstructs the vision of players on both sides, and when used in conjunction with Glaz’s HDS Flip Sight, the two make for a deadly duo.

Walls of Light Benefit Defenders More Than Attackers
Sens' R.O.U. projection system may seem daunting at first glance, as the greenish walls of light the gadget emits look unlike anything inRainbow Six Siege- it seems more likesomething straight out ofValorant. In reality, the mechanics of the R.O.U. projection system work similarly to those of a smoke grenade. The gadget obstructs lines of sight for a limited time, but players, utility, and gunfire can still pass through.
The differences between the R.O.U. and smoke grenades lie in their interactions with other gadgets. Mute’s Signal Disruptors, for instance, can disable any projectors in their range. Jager’s ADSs and Wamai’s Mag-NETs can redirect Sens’s R.O.U.s but not destroy them. Players in control of bulletproof cameras and Maestro’s Evil Eye cameras can see through the light and dispose of them using explosives like Impact Grenades or Nitro Cells. The biggest counter to Sens is Warden, whose Glance Smart Glasses allow him to see clearly through the walls of light without having to activate a camera. Through defending players might feel intimidated by Sens' R.O.Us, in reality, they have more ways of seeing through the walls of light than attackers do.

The Artistic Sniper
Armed with his HDS Flip Sight, Glaz can see through vision-obscuring tools (i.e. smoke grenades and Smoke’s Remote Gas Grenades) by looking down the sights of his OTs-03 marksman rifle. Glaz has become a stronger operator since Ubisoft gave him smoke grenades (these allow him to create advantageous situations where he can use the HDS Flip Sight), but the inclusion of Sens gives Glaz more ways to get the drop on unaware defenders.
Sens players can drop their R.O.U.s on choke points to obscure the vision of the defending team, essentially creating a giant wall of smoke that Glaz can see through. Once the cover is laid down, Glaz can pick opponents off using the HDS Flip Sight mounted on his marksman rifle. The Sens-Glaz combo is great for pushing an area that needs to be secured, or a hostage that needs to be rescued (the latter could also cause the defending team to shoot the hostage, netting a win for the attackers). Inversely, the R.O.U.s can be deployed once a bomb defuser is placed, allowing Glaz to more easily defend it until the timer runs out.
This combination is similar tothe Smoke-Warden tactic used by defenders, only instead of having gas that cannot be passed through using Smoke’s damaging Remote Gas Grenades, Sens' R.O.U.s allow for more maneuverability. This is only one of the many ways Sens can be used in conjunction with his fellow attacking operators. Players are undoubtedly going to find more ways to put their unique gadget to use, and with Operation Vector Glare just starting, the possibilities are endless.
