The Witcherseason two has finally thrown fans a bone in the form of new pictures of what Geralt of Rivia will be wearing when the show returns to Netflix next year. Currently filming in the UK, like most productions ithas not been without its setbacks, but the early look should ease those urging to get a look at Henry Cavill clad in armor once more.
While Cavill has been in the spotlight recently forhis role in Netflix’s ownEnola Holmes, rumors surrounding his chances as the next 007 or even building PCs, the actor is actually quite busy back home filming season two ofThe Witcher. All clues suggests that the plot will explain a lot about Geralt of Rivia’s origin story that may have left newcomers to the world ofThe Witchera little bit confused considering the first season had a less than forgiving timeline.

Cavill shared the pictures in an Instagram post earlier today, which was also posted on Twitter by writer Lauren S. Hissrich and Netflix’s UK official account, all quoting some words from the novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski that inspired the hit TV series and video games.
The “New armour, same witcher” line used by Netflix does well to highlight Cavill’s role in helping the show become popular, as his performance was one of the critical highlights, alongside carefully crafted action sequences and the overall aesthetics level accomplished by production as a whole.
Season one did very well for Netflix, becoming one of the platform’s best streamed original series, only rivaled byStranger Thingsand Disney+‘sMandalorian.More important than raw numbers, however, is that the show drew in viewers from outside fantasy fandom, a feat that in part can be attributed to Cavill’s charms. However, critics were quick to point out the show’s storyline as convoluted and lacking proper pacing, somethingproducers will hope to remedy this time around.
In the meantime fans can rejoice at the sight of Cavill donning Geralt’s signature white long hair and dark armor, channeling the character just as perfectly as he did in season one. Rest assured, no theater or COVID-19 related delays will get in the way of this one for now.
The Witcherseason two is coming to Netflix in 2021.
