TheCall of Dutyfranchise is coming up on 20 years of existence. Even the youngest of fans in the days of the firstCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2release are now becoming adults and professionals in their preferred line of work. Some of those professions, like being a UFC fighter, have more space to involve some colorful trash-talk. One ofUFC’s rising starsincorporated one of gaming’s most notorious taunts in their pre-fight press conference aimed at his opponent.

UFC Fighter Paddy Pimblett was being interviewed as part of his pre-fight press duties where he was asked about his opponent Jordan Leavitt. Leavitt, Pimblett’s UFC London Fight Night opponent, fired the first volley, claiming that his approach to the fight was “Finish the fight, Twerk, Go home.” Leavitt’s twerk comment got back to Pimblett, who then escalated and claimed that he would “teabag him like itsModern Warfare 2.”

Teabagging in a video game is regarded as one of the highest forms of disrespect in online multiplayer games. The gesture was first popularized byHalo, then the bad-mouthing practice moved on toCall of Dutyand other first-person shooters. When we get to see itin real life like the Los Angeles Chargers' Defensive Lineman Joey Bosadid in a game, it’s funny to see because it’s a very awkward movement in execution. It’s one thing for Pimblett to trash talk and say he’s going to teabag his opponent, but fans were unsure if the fighter would get the chance if he lost or the fight ended in a draw. In this case, Pimblett was true to his word.

In the 2nd Round of their fight Pimblett forced a submission out of Leavitt, winning him the fight. Without missing a beat, Pimblett proceeds to perform the teabag motion while Leavitt was stillrecovering from the submission hold. From the video obtained by Barstool Sports, Leavitt looks like he was about to react to the gesture but the camera panned away to a shot of the London crowd.

The teabag is a funny gesture in some circles, but it is a controversial practice. More mature gamers would call the move childish, and in extreme cases, itmay be labeled as a form of sexual assault. Teabagging is the highest form of disrespecting one’s opponent, and MMA fighting is a sport where respect is earned in the octagon. Suffice it to say, Pimblett won’t be showing any respect to Leavitt and potentially otherUFCopponents any time soon.
