Assassin’s Creed Valhallais full of brawny and strong-minded characters, ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice and with a sense of honor that is undoubtedly admirable. With these characteristics, all of them could be heroes of a story, but inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, they are all shadowed by Eivor.

And whilesome of those secondary charactersget the screen time and proper storyline that they deserve, some others are hidden from the light, even though they keep leaving breadcrumbs of much bigger and interesting stories.
7Randvi
Apart from a heartbreaking backstory (her parents were murdered), Randvi grew up to be an excellent warrior and a fierce woman. Her decisions are usually made after a long thought process, she is not afraid to ask for help, and she supports the people and the ideas she believes in.
Unfortunately, Randvi inAssassin’s Creed Valhallais more of apossible love interestfor Eivor than anything else, even though she serves as the chief advisor of Ravensthorpe. She is present in some missions and decisions, but her role is way smaller than it could be.
6King Ceolwulf II
For such an important figure, Ceolwulf has very little time in the game. His son Ceolbert has a lot more screen and story time and has quite an interesting character arc. But Ceolwulf and his incredibly important decisions for the future seem to be nothing more than a few discussions between him andthe Sons of Ragnar.

Ceolwulf showed that he truly wanted what was best for Mercia and what would be best for his son as well, even if that meant that he would join the Vikings and support them. He was insistent that King Burgred should be captured alive, and his allegiance was questioned because of it.
5Saint Richardis
Saint Richardis is the lovelywife of Charles III, who, like so many kings of the past, is on the verge of madness. Richardis has quite a lot of screen time in the game (part ofThe Siege Of Parisexpansion), but for such an interesting character, the players get to know little about her and her extraordinary life.
Charles, her husband, accuses her of adultery, and then Eivor has to save her two different times, one from Little Mother, a fanatic nun, and one from her own husband, who wants to see her burn, literally. She is so forgiving that when Eivor tries to kill Charles, she begs them to spare him.
4King Oswald
Oswald has an amazing character arc, starting from someone afraid of almost everything, and ending upa brave warrior and a good king. He is also one of the characters that, even though he gets enough screen and story time, the players don’t get to interact with him as much as they would have wanted.

Valdis, his wife, is also a very interesting character, and even though at first glance the two of them seem like an unusual match, as the story unfolds the player gets to seehow much love and care they havefor each other.
3Freyja
When a game puts characters from Norse mythology in it, one expects that Freyja would be one of the stars. This is not the case inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, where Freyja’s only role is that of a bargaining chip between a man called The Builder and Odin.
Even though the players get a glimpse of her fierce personality, it is frustrating that a figure such as Freyja gets to be mistreated both by the game designers and by the characters in the game. Odin doesn’t seem to have much of a problem marrying Freyja (who is his wife, let’s not forget) to The Builder, so the latter would complete a magical shield to protect Asgard.
2Thor
Thor gets even less screen and story time than Freyja and significantly less than Loki, which could be considered a good reason for himto get his hammer and storminto the Ubisoft offices. Seeing as he is a fictional character though, he doesn’t, so the fans are the only ones left to defend his honor.

Thor’s armor and Mjolnir, his legendary hammer, get more of a story inAssassin’s Creed Valhallathan Thor himself. The player has to travel all over the map, kill all the members of the Order of the Ancients, and also finish successfully the boss fights with the terrifying Daughters of Lerion.
1King Styrbjorn
Styrbjorn Sigvaldisson is yet another king who didn’t get the time he deserved with the gamers. He isthe father of Sigurdand adopted father of Eivor, whose move to make an alliance with Harald angered Sigurd so much that heleft to migrate to Englandso he wouldn’t be under Harald’s rule.
Styrbjorn was left to drink his days away, having lost both sons (since Eivor went to help his brother). Weirdly enough, that wasn’t the worst thing. When Sigurd and Eivor went back to Norway, Styrbjorn was incredibly happy to see them, only to be greeted by an angry Sigurd who still hadn’t forgiven him for surrendering. Styrbjorn, who always cared for the good of his people more than his own, is once again devastated.
