Bridges are notoriously difficult to create in the game without mods due to the game’s physics engine. One gamer has created an incredible suspension bridge that crosses a wide body of water working within the game’s limitations.
Reddit user Good-Table5566 recently shared an image of their massiveValheimsuspension bridge. The bridge crosses a wide river, with one patch ofValheimMeadowsland visible in the background and the other not depicted in the screenshot. The image highlights a central tower that the seemingly wooden suspension bridge cables connect to and a gradual incline that’s likely reflected on the opposite side. The cables highlight the symmetrical nature of the build, while lanterns light the upper and lower parts of the bridge. The photo includes a boat in the foreground that provides some scale to the bridge, with the structure dwarfing the mode of transport.
Were Any Mods Used to Create This Bridge?
While the suspension bridge appears wide enough to run a cart across it, it’s currently unclear what it was used for. According to Good-Table5566, the server that ran the competition has been shut down, but their creation was among multiple impressive builds. The boat is able to comfortably sail underneath the suspension bridge, and an interior staircase leads to the top and bottom of the load-bearing tower. The Reddit user has confirmed that this bridge was made using a mod, but it only colored building pieces for them. Based on this, it’s likely that the mod they refer to is ColorfulPieces from ComfyMods. One ofmanyValheimmodsthat players use to work around the build limitations are Ez Build and Snap Points Made Easy, but this suspension bridge adheres to the standard conditions.
AsValheimhas been updated since this player’s bridge competition, it may be different if it was created today. Ashwood and Grausten are two new materials that were added in the Ashlands update that may have improved the bridge. AsIron Gate Studio continues to patchValheim, build limits may be improved to further streamline the creation of such builds.
