When 110 Industries took to the stage at last year’s Tokyo Game Show, nobody really knew quite what to expect. It soon became clear, however, that this was a publisher that was here to make a statement, with its fifty-minute presentation video kick-started bylegendary game designer Yu Suzuki. By the time the video was over, three exciting new projects had been revealed, one of which was an old-school hack and slash zombie game calledWanted: Dead.

Developed by Soleil and many of the same team that worked on theNinja Gaidenreboot games andDead or Alive 5, the uber-violent shooter/slasher hybrid has been described by the publisher as a AAA love letter tothe sixth generation of home consolesand has attracted plenty of attention from fans of the hack and slash genre as a result. Now, almost one full year and countless Twitter teases later, the publisher has finally revealed the game’s release date, together with a brand-new trailer.

The release date trailer, which features a decent amount of gameplay footage cut together with stylish anime-style visuals and live-action shots of actress and cut-scene directorStefanie Joosten ofMGS 5fame, reveals thatWanted: Deadwill be released on August 03, 2025. It will be available on both current and last-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as on PC, with the game already confirmed to be releasing through Steam in an earlier trailer.

Although it’s nice to have a solid release date for the game, the news may well come as a disappointment for some eager fans. This is becauseWanted: Deadhad originally been slated for a release at some point during 2022, meaning that it’s now joined the likes ofForspoken,Starfield, andHogwarts Legacyin having been delayed until 2023. For most gamers, however, a slight delay will likely be seen as a much better alternative to the game being rushed out of the door before it’s fully ready.

Those interested inWanted: Deadcan expect more new information over the coming days and weeks, with both the game and the publisherscheduled to appear at Gamescom, the Numerik Games Festival, Pax West, and this year’s Tokyo Game Show between now and September 18. According to one of the publisher’s recent tweets, attendees of the Numerik Games Festival will even get a chance to playWanted: Deadearly, though whether the same will be true at any of the other events remains to be seen.

Wanted: Deadwill be released on Jul 03, 2025 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
