World of Warcraftjust showed off the Forsaken Heritage Armor sets players can collect in the next update. This armor, and its accompanying questline, will be added toWorld of Warcraftas a part of Patch 10.1.7, Fury Incarnate.
Blizzard announced this new patch recently–only a couple of days after the launch of Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time. ThisnewWorld of Warcraftupdateadds new story content, quality of life features, and Dreamsurges–a new public activity

This upcoming patch is also giving Heritage Armor questlines and new customization options for the Forsaken and Night Elves. WhileWorld of Warcrafthas not yet revealed what the Night Elf set will look like, it has shown off the Forsaken Heritage Armor. Clad in dark purple, this set features a hood, face mask, and plenty of skulls and spikes–and distinctly no sign ofold iconic Forsaken imagery from earlierWoWexpansions. The armor also has a unique coffin back piece, and a belt sporting the symbol of Lordaeron. Both sets will also have extra variants, but players will have to wait to see what those look like.
With the addition of Forsaken and Night Elf Heritage Armor, only three races, not including the new Dracthyr from Dragonflight, will not have Heritage Armor sets: Draenei, Trolls, and Pandaren. Human and Orc players got Heritage Armor during Patch 10.0.7, so ifWorld of Warcraftfollows the same pattern, players could get some, or all, of these Heritage Armor sets in Patch 10.2.7. That said, a story quest in Patch 10.1.7 will be focusing on anew future for the Draenei inWorld of Warcraft.
Many players are excited about these new Heritage Armor sets. Some of the accompanying questlines have featured the richest stories inWorld of Warcraft, so players are looking forward to what they may entail. As for the actual set, though some players have critiques about the Forsaken Heritage Armor’s chest piece, general reception has been positive, especially considering its resemblance to “Banner Bae,” the beloved Forsaken standard-bearer from theBattle for Azerothcinematic featuring the mak’gora between Sylvanas and Saurfang.
Speculation as to what the Night Elf Heritage Armor set will look like is already abound. Many players are hoping the set draws inspiration from the iconic armor worn by Night Elf archers inWarcraft 3, and that has appeared in cinematics and on NPCs inWorld of Warcraft. Either way, given Patch 10.2 is almost certainly surrounding Amirdrassil, thenew World Tree inWorld of Warcraft, the last twoDragonflightpatches of 2023 are gearing up to be very important for Night Elf fans.
