Xbox Game Passhas been releasing a steady stream of games on its service over the past week, with today (February 16) being no exception asShadow Warrior 3is being added to the platform. Despite originally being a 2022 release,Shadow Warrior 3’s current-gen port has been released today, which does make this latest version of the game a day-one release forXbox Game Pass.
The addition ofShadow Warrior 3follows the release of a 10-hour trial forWild Heartson February 13 and the additions ofMount and Blade 2: Bannerlordon February 14. Another notable addition to Xbox Game Pass wasCity Skylines Remasteredon February 15, andAtomic Heartis still to come on February 21.

Shadow Warrior 3is a first-person shooter that follows series protagonist Lo Wang as he continues to battle demons and other monstrosities to save humanity while cracking jokes and having fun. The specific version coming out on Xbox Game Pass isShadow Warrior 3: Definitive Editionwhich offers improved performance on modern consoles and has new additions including Survival Mode and New Game Plus along with added difficulty options. For anyone who had been interested in playing the game but decided to hold off as well as fans who burned through the game’s brief 5 to 8 hour campaign, this release seems to add a decent amount of content and replayability to what had been previously a fairly content bare game.
With several well-received gamesleaving Xbox Game Pass in February, includingAlien: IsolationandOctopath Traveler, seeing the new releases coming out on the service before then is reassuring of the value it offers. Given the range of highly regarded titles being added to the platform, there is something to offer most people whether they mostly care about bigger releases, indie titles, or something in between.
Despite there not being much known about what is slated for the service in March 2023, if rumors ofGhostwire: Tokyocoming to Xbox Game Passwith additional content are true alongside the confirmations for action RPGWo Long: Fallen Dynastyon March 3 and Baseball simulatorMLB: The Show 23on March 28, then next month could prove to be a strong one. That does remain to be seen until it does come, but even with the current selection on offer, it remains difficult to argue the value Xbox Game Pass still offers.
