Updated June 21, 2025 by Blaise Santi:There are more recipes in Tears of the Kingdom than most players will encounter during their playthroughs. However, for those who want the thrill of trying to make every recipe in the game, these additional recipes involve a little more complicated specifications of ingredients.
As a result, it can be tricky for players to figure out exactly how to turn these delectable meals into cold resistance-boosting boons. Follow the lists below to figure out how to make these tasty treats, and double-check to see if you already have the ingredients in your inventory to make these cold resistance recipes in Tears of the Kingdom without going searching for them.

Spicy Pepper or Warm Safflina
Cold Resistance
ThePrime Cheesy Meat Bowlcertainly looks like one of the tastiest meals players can craft inTears of the Kingdom, though it might be pretty tough to cook up. It requires Raw Prime Meat (or, for theGourmet Cheesy Meat Bowlvariant, Raw Gourmet Meat), Hylian Rice, Hateno Cheese, and Rock Salt, making it a pretty crowded recipe.
While its health bonuses are astounding, there’s only room in the recipe for one additional ingredient to provide cold resistance, like a Spicy Pepper, though the handful of ingredients that boost effect duration will help make that power worth it.

Spicy Pepper
Everyone loves a goodApple Pie, especially players ofTears of the Kingdom. Apples are a necessary ingredient for this recipe, which is combined with Tabantha Wheat, Cane Sugar, and Goat Butter. Like the previous recipe, however, there’s only room for one ingredient that boosts cold resistance.
However, given how plentiful apples are all across Hyrule, this makes for a good variety of the usual recipes they make up. Plus, some players might enjoy the thrill of making an Apple Pie to remind them of a favorite childhood delicacy.

Rock Salt
Effect Duration Boost
What’s useful about theMushroom Risottofor those looking for cold resistance recipes is that the recipe can utilize pretty much any variety of mushrooms. This means players can throw in up to two Sunshrooms for additional cold resistance, while the other ingredients include Hylian Rice, Goat Butter, and Rock Salt.
It’s not as massive a health recovery option as other recipes available to cook inTears of the Kingdom, but given the plethora of effect-duration-boosting ingredients included in the recipe, the cold resistance will be quite plentiful if players can gather two Sunshrooms for maximum cold resistance potential.

Goron Spice
Among the simpler recipes on this list is theHerb Sauté, which surprisingly requires only two ingredients: a Warm Safflina and Goron Spice. For players with a plethora of Warm Safflinas to dispose of, this is a great recipe to use, as it can include up to four of the ingredient. Or, adversely, they can stock up on Goron Spices to increase its effect duration.
What might be an obstacle for some players is the rarity of these two ingredients. Goron Spice can only be purchased in two places: the Goron Gusto Shop in Goron City, and the Tabantha Bridge Stable. Warm Safflina, on the other hand, can be found growing out of the ground in the Gerudo Desert and Eldin Canyon, so stock up on heat resistance recipes!

Spicy Pepper or Sunshroom
TheHylian Tomato Pizzais a brand-new recipe inTears of the Kingdom, and it’s one of the more challenging ones to make. For starters, Hateno Cheese can only be acquired after completing the side quest “A Letter to Koyin” in Hateno Village. Tabantha Wheat and Hylian Tomatos are also quite difficult to come by. But combining all three, and maybe some Rock Salt, will make a pizza.

Players can also add additional toppings, like Spicy Peppers, Sunshrooms, Warm Saffina, or Sizzlefin Trouts, to give their pizza cold resistance. The result will be a lot of health recovery along with their cold resistance meal, so it’s best not to waste it by eating it in a non-freezing area.
The Fruit and Mushroom Mix is a fairly easy recipe to make inTears of the Kingdom, as it’s just any combination of fruit and mushrooms. To give it an extra kick, players can throw Spicy Peppers and Sunshrooms into the cooking pot. The result could be a bit of cold resistance, or a lot of it, depending on the ratio of regular fruit and shrooms to specialty ones.

When making the Spicy Fruit and Mushroom Mix, make sure that Link isn’t combining these ingredients with other fruits or mushrooms with their own effects, like Chillshrooms or Stamina Bulbs. Rather than pile on, additional meal effects will cancel each other out. Instead, stick to cold resistance ingredients in each recipe.
To purchase Hylian Rice, look in Hateno Village, Zora’s Domain, and Lookout Landing. It’s easy to make many types of rice balls inTears of the Kingdom, but with the right combination of gourmet or prime meat, players can benefit from full health recovery with this easy-to-make recipe. They’ll also have room left over to throw in some Spicy Peppers or Sunshrooms.

Since the recipe only calls for one meat item and one Hylian Rice, players can add plenty of veggies and mushrooms with this recipe to get the most out of their cold resistance boost. Adding one or two extra Hylian Rice will also greatly increase the duration of their cold resistance boost. It’s worth it if Link has enough ingredients to spare.
There may be instances, especially late inTears of the Kingdom, where players may find themselves with low health, and suffering from incremental health loss thanks to the cold. A great counter to this is SpicyPoultry Curry. Its Prime and Gourmet variations can be difficult to cook thanks to needing either Raw Bird Thighs, or even rarer, a Full Raw Bird.

Prime Poultry Curry will grant huge health recovery, which can be a rare combination to guarantee. Throw in a Spicy Pepper, and the result is a meal that will provide a long period of cold resistance in addition to its massive health restoration.
Sizzlefin Trout
Cold Resistance, HP Recovery, Effect Duration Boost
One of the best ways to acquire high-level cold resistance inTears of the Kingdomis by using Sizzlefin Trouts. These fish provide a hefty boost to Link’s cold resistance and can be used in a variety of recipes.
One recipe players can make with this fish isCheesy Baked Fish. All they will need is one to four Sizzlefin Trouts and some Hateno Cheese. This will restore a nice amount of Hearts, and protect Link from the cold for over 10 minutes. It’s important to note that Hateno Cheese can only be unlocked after the player has completed a certain quest line in Hateno Village.
Warm Darner or Summerwing Butterfly
Monster Parts
Various Effects
Tears of the Kingdomplayers who find themselves short on cooking materials can instead use their excess monster parts to make aSpicy Elixir. For this recipe, players will need at least one Warm Darner or Summerwing Butterfly, and preferably a high-level monster part. The more valuable the monster part, the longer the cold resistance will last.
Players can purchase Warm Darners and Summerwing Butterflies from Beedle. They can be quite tricky to track down in the wild, so purchasing them straight from Beedle is the simplest way to acquire them. This recipe is best for players who aren’t bothered about receiving any Hearts from a meal.
